Potential C7.5 S6 Owner - Help Convince Myself To Buy

I found a great 2017 S6 that's local to me that includes the sports package that I was after on these cars.

I have the price and financing locked in along with extended warranty quotes from both Fidelity and Audi Pure Protection from Troy.

My few questions are as follows:

What should I be looking for on the car? I scanned the car with VCDS and found one fault code that caused me concern (see attached)
What extended warranty is best? Fidelity or Audi Pure Protection? I know Fidelity used to underwrite Audi's extended warranties but now it's SafeGuard under their new plans. What gives the best coverage? Looking at the top tier plan from both companies.
Has anyone with either of the warranty companies above had their turbo failure covered by their respective warranty company? If so, which company did you have?
Has anyone had any air suspension issues with their S6's? If so, did your extended warranty cover it?
Has anyone with the Lunar Silver interior actually had staining on the seats? I don't see any staining on my current S4 with the Lunar Silver middle seat inlays.
The car comes with winter tires on it's stock 20" wheels. I'll be in need of summer tires come spring and a second set of 20" wheels - does anyone have a good affordable source for proeprly specced 20" wheels for a winter set?

"16629 - Camshaft Adjuster B Cylinder 8

Is it not under factory warranty? Take it to the dealer and have them fix whatever is causing the code

It is under factory warranty for 12,XXX miles and over a year. I’m just trying to avoid a car that has a code that points to serious problems.

I’d rather enjoy a car than deal with it in the shop for a repair (especially a involved/serious one) right after purchase.

Then take it to the dealer and have it diagnosed before you buy it? These faults are typically nothing more than a faulty solenoid

High priced German luxury cars are not cheap to maintain over time.. if that's a concern I'd steer clear

Let’s refrain from the “pay to play” mentality here. There’s countless threads in this forum regarding warranties both factory and extended. They’re there for a reason, people want to have some form of protection from out of pocket repairs if they can manage it.

I’m more than aware that higher end German luxury cars are far from affordable in their repair nature. I simply wanted to confirm this code wasn’t indicative of a harsh previous life or something of concern.

Any input on my other questions is also welcomed if you can provide any input.

Maybe see if the dealer is willing to bring it to the local Audi dealer to diagnose. If they agree, make sure to see service report to make sure they didn’t simply erase code, etc. How is the overall service history? Also as it’s close to 40k miles, was the 40k mile service done?

Great point. Forgot to mention the following.

Car was leased and maintained by my local Audi dealer down the road. Service history is pristine and the previous owner paid for Audi Care to 50K miles and transfers to me free of charge. So my 40K and 50K services are free.

I have a great relationship with my local Audi dealer and am going to attempt doing just that between the BMW dealer the car is at and the Audi dealer. They’re literally 2 miles down the road from one another.

No 2018’s in my local area of interest that have the options I want. But I did consider it!

I considered new and ran into the same issue, not much inventory left and did not find anything that met exactly what I am looking for. This vehicle was on my list when I started researching, but I'm ultimately going the CPO route. Good luck and curious to hear what you find/decide!

I'd have to agree with the others about looking for a new 2018 (even if you have to travel). If not, I think you could pick up a used 2017 or 2018 for a few grand more with lower miles. That mileage is on the higher end for a 2017....... If you're willing to travel to the Chicagoland area, Audi Morton Grove has a 2017 Daytona Gray Prestige with 8K miles, certified and is basically loaded with the exception of B&O, Alcantera headliner, Arras red interior/comfort seating and cold weather.

Ended up pulling the trigger after getting them down another 6.5K - it’s amazing what getting up and walking away does.

I’m satisfied with the deal at this point. Happy to move upwards in the Audi lineup and to have a warranty. Lol
