DIY: C7 4.0t Air filter replacement.

Made a quick video on how to replace your air filter.

Super easy install.

Just swapped out my intake and checked the filter in the process. Naturally, I broke the locking tab off of the filter housing, but I was throwing out the old intake anyway. Also, check your accordion hoses to the turbos. Mine were both dry rotted and I just ordered replacement ones. I don't want unfiltered air sucking into this engine, especially with these turbos.

It gets quite dirty around that filter! This was changed only a few months ago. Tons of leaves and even a cigarette butt.

I had to vacuum mine out to get all the junk out of it.

That Ram Air duct on the front gets a lot of junk.

Good thing the filter is heavy duty.

Maybe it's just me but IMHO it's a royal PITA to change this filter. Had a heck of a time lining up the tabs and filter when reinstalling the new filter, as well as getting the hoses back onto the tubes. You would think Audi would be able to design something that's a little easier and quicker to use like every other car I've ever owned....LOL

Maybe it's just me but IMHO it's a royal PITA to change this filter. Had a heck of a time lining up the tabs and filter when reinstalling the new filter, as well as getting the hoses back onto the tubes. You would think Audi would be able to design something that's a little easier and quicker to use like every other car I've ever owned....LOL

It is the most easiest to get the air intake hoses off and especially on when you have just driven and they are still bit soft from the heat ;). Even just making them a little bit wet helps a lot.

I did mine recently and it was filthy. Likewise someone previously had snapped the catch off the lid, doesn't seem to matter though.

Definitely check it out, if your car is anything like mine it is a leaf magnet for that intake box. I wonder how many leaves accumulate in RS7 variants.

I would check mine right now if it wasn't 10:45pm!! Doing it tomorrow as when I "attempted" to check and clean my filter & didn't want to break anything & stopped ...I saw some leafs in there!!! I am hoping it is only the couple on top that I saw!

I am hoping it is not that bad as the car was just CPO'ed 20 000km ago with a new air filter.

Thanks for this video, but is the re/re of the air filter the same for the RS7 as it looks so?
