    Bilstein vs. Koni shocks

I want something comfy and definitely not bouncy. The shocks will be mated up with my Eibach springs. I’m having trouble deciding. This is my DD and won’t be tracked.

My Koni shocks are stiff, more jar than bounce. Regardless of which manufacture you choose, you get what you pay for....

Bilstein B6 would be ideal, B4s might not hold up well over time with the springs (depending on the spring rate stiffness over OEM).

I'm running Eibach springs paired with bilstein B4 sport shocks which are the stock replacements for sline sport suspension and S4 (same part #'s). Eibach designed the pro kit springs to be used with these shocks.

Maybe no more than a 1” lowering spring then?

How long have you been running this setup? I want the B4 sport shocks simply because they’re cheaper and will be better than my current oem non sport shocks. Just lowered slightly is what I’m looking for. Really can’t beat the price of those B4 sports and a set of lowering springs for modest drop..

So if if went with the Bilstein B6 shocks over B4 would they be noticeably stiffer? Less comfortable?

B6’s are not meant for lowering.

Don’t buy B6’s. B6 shocks are for people who want the ride to be stiffer in the twisties but not lower their car.

    Bilstein vs. Koni shocks

Everyone I’m about to install B4 sports with H&R next week or the week after. From what I’ve read it will get me out of monster truck status and be a nice overall upgrade. Current setup, no haters.... I’ll report back when it’s done...IMG_2072.JPG

For the H&R springs I would go with the B8 sport shocks...

I have the Koni sport shocks with adjustable dampening, I have them on the softest setting and damn they are stiff and firm! I had them set correctly and adjusted
They are mated with h&r springs.
Does anyone else have think the Koni sports are too stiff? Or am i just not use to leaking bouncy shocks.
Was looking for the Bilstein B8's but found Koni's for a good deal

Good as I have non sport as well and would really likt to hear others opinions on the setup. I called ex’s tuning and they tried to convince me to use a spring with a drop of no more than 1” but everything sold seems to be at least 1” or more

I will be pairing the springs with a new set of B4 sports. My car has 102k on stock non sport, I do not want to do this swap more than once.

They may be trying to convince you to not put lower springs on your stock non sport. The consensus is that you will blow them prematurely and need to do the job again.

Oh no i called ECS tuning and was inquiring about the B4 sports and lowering springs and the rep specifically said that regarding the B4 shocks he wouldn't go lower than a one inch drop but that was just one reps opinion. Most people go with coilovers on this platform it seems so he was probably just being extra safe.

I'm on Eibach pro kit 1.2" with the bilstein B4 sport suspension replacements. No complains here. But then again pro kit springs were desiged to go with those shocks. But I believe H&R drops lower than 1.2" and for that I would rather use the Bilstein B8 sports.

In my opinion that is about the perfect ride height. A great balance between good looks and proper handling.
