    Polyurethane bushing kit?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys I am wondering if anyone makes a complete kit of poly bushings?? I have seen kits with arms from AKmotorsport, also seen stern upper control arms with camber adjustments. I am looking for a complete poly kit for the front suspension upper and lower bushes and possibly all the rear bushes for rear suspension as well.I have seen the powerflex bushes but nothing comes all together as a whole kit.Any ideas??

I'm not sure what's taken into consideration when designing a poly bushing, if anything
or if it's simply certain durometer poly in a mold or something

in which case, if there are any control arm bushing positions where no poly part is offered,
maybe a company can be convinced to add such a part to their product line-up and finally make it
or maybe it can be made at home DIY style, if that's even possible
or found from another car model, if it's the same dimensions

while not poly, there is also the stiffer 034 products

Had to make my own poly bushings for the Volvo, get oversized generic ones and use a holesaw and jig to get the OD, press in whatever you need to get the appropriate ID, easy but time consuming

I haven't checked for the B6, but was looking into this for my allroad. I think the company is Strongflex or something. They make a full front and rear poly kit for the C5, which I haven't seen anywhere else. Full kit would be ~$450 IIRC.

I have these for the upper control arms: https://www.ebay.com/itm/221300948660
I haven't installed them yet however.

Otherwise you really have to hunt for all the various bushings. I know companies make inner and outer front lower straight control arm bushings, and I believe inners for the front lower curved arm. I also have a Powerflex rear diff bushing waiting to be installed. I'm sort of mixed about the possibility of extra NVH in the cabin from full poly suspension, however I feel that the improvement in handling will likely be worth it.

If doing rubber for now where poly is not available, the B6 LCA design has an insert; I hear it's not as good as the B7 design, which doesn't have one

You can. If you order it, they will ship it to you. Such as in the states.

I don't know if poly bushings are mostly used in rally racing cars or something. Which is more of a European sport.

Yeah no worries im sure they ship.if they dont I have family in the country that will. Either way nice kit complete with all bushes needed to do the front control arms they also have a rear kit.I just wonder why no one in the states offers a complete kit of poly bushings. Why does everything need to be purchased separately.Make no sense.Oh well.

    PowerFlex is a UK company.
Cheapest I found their rear diff bushing was on eBay.co.uk for like $50 shipped.

German shipping might be DHL Paket International with around a 1mo wait time.

I bet you can find multiple sources on poly bushings stateside for a Miata.

Hopefully Google Translate does a good job of translating English text to German if needing to message them. Though they probably teach English as a second language at school in Europe anyway.

If you're getting poly bushings, I wonder if you'll do anything for the subframe. Such as solid metal.

ive had powerflex before(upper link bushing), took them out after a year. They were distorted an worn, after a year! So i ended up getting the Super pro bushings and i liked them so much i ended up doing the entire front end Super Pro. My opinion, Super Pro is they best poly bushings replacement on the market

Will consider taking a look before i decide. On the subframe bush topic I would have to see. Are the inserts that go over/fit into existing bushing or complete replacement??Not sure how much more vibration from drivetrain/suspension would get transfered to the body with those in. Street car will consider either way lol.

Interesting that they wore out that fast.

I've not heard much about superpro, but sounds like they make a decent bushing as well.

My worry is squeaking from the body contact points, and if it'd benefit from some sort of rubber washers or not. Or anti-seize. The stock bushings might have a narrow metal part, whereas aftermarket might be all metal, resulting in the same amount of clamping force spread out over a large area (reduces the force)

IMO, oem sport suspension ride comfort is like getting hit in the back with a baseball bat that has a piece of kitchen paper towel taped on it, and metal bushings removes the piece of paper towel
