    RS3 jack/lift points

    I saw many online videos about installing jack pads for Golf MK7. Does the RS3 already have dedicated lifting points (besides the pinch welds)? If not, will this MK7 kit fit the RS3?

    Yes, the rear has jack pads for you. The front does not, but you can follow the arrow on the side skirt up front (about 12" from the end side skirt close to front wheel) and go right behind the pinch welds, should be fine to jack from there. See attached pics

    Anything wrong with using the pinch welds on a 2 post lift? Is that not preferred?

    Idk....in a pinch (get it? punny ) you probably can, but I doubt it's "good" for the welds in the long run to use it as your official jackpoint. Most cars I've owned, if I couldn't find a jackpoint I did it under the pinch welds but, once I had a bad experience where the sideskirt started buckling and folding in on itself. So now i'm paranoid and make sure I find official points to jack it on (apparently though I missed it on the front of my RS3, yikesss)

    The jack puck on the chassis is stronger and will not bend overtime unlike the pinch welds. It should be easier to lift the car using the jack points vs the pinch welds. You'll have more working room and will not need the car to be dead center of the posts.

    The jacking rail that the the arrows on the side skirts point to (for the front and back) is pretty robust. Not your typical pinch weld, its seems reinforced.

    I didn't see the jack pads, that's a nice addition. Audi seems a little better than other manufacturers in providing solutions and identification of locations. My Fords only give the standard emergency scissor jack locations as lifting points.
