Summer tires that are cheap...Atturo AZ850's?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have three sets of wheels, snow's, track, and a new set for daily driving. For the track wheels I wanted as much grip as a could get but for the street I am thinking a treadwear in the low 300's and a not so expensive alternative. I came across these in my search. Price is right and reviews look really good. Has anyone tried these? I will be running 285-40-20's on my summers to minimize the poke. The track setup will get the 295's. Here is a link to the tires.

Here is a thread on those tires:

    Same tire, but different size.

I wrote that when they first came out. Hard to believe it's been over four years ago.

Yes. The Atturo is a fine tire. It's actually made by Federal in Taiwan. At that time, it was an incredibly affordable alternative to the stock 21"s, which were running about $400 per tire. I've always wanted to try them in the 295 flavor, so let us know if they have better lateral grip than the 265's.

Good to hear, for $555 shipped for a set of 285-40-20's it seems like a no brainer so I'm gonna give them a shot. I will report back.

I’ve had a set on for almost a year and they have been good tires. I bought them on Amazon for $109 each with free shipping.

285/40/20 you say. Excellent! That is one of the perfect sized for the SQ5. Until now, there was only one option, Nokian. Let us know how you like them.

Nitto had a few but they weren't in the 300 treadwear and Pirelli has one but its like $1800 for a set. I just ordered them so we'll see how they are. We have another month up here before I can even think of summers but now I'm ready!

I ran same tire different size 21" on my old Q5 Hybrid. Good LRR tire. Quite. And great performance for the price as a daily driver summer tire. Im in Florida and they were good in rain and hot roads. Did not drive too agressive. Got 20k miles and they are still mounted to the rims in my storage unit! 20190111_130917.jpeg20190111_130945.jpeg20190111_131107.jpeg

I currently have the AZ850s in 295/35R21 size and love them. I had the AZ850s in 265/40R21 on the OEM wheels and drove them for roughly 12k miles prior to upgrading my wheels and to the set of 295s. I think the AZ850s are the best performance / price tire out there. Before the AZ850 sets, I had the famous Michelin PSS on my S4 and the AZ850s are 90% of that tire at 1/3 the price!

How are the 295 AZ850s in the rain?

The 295s handle the rain well. I have about 2k miles on them thus far and it has been raining non stop in Atlanta. I haven't felt uncomfortable, other than a time when the rain had puddled over the entire width of the interstate and I hit it at 80mph. The 295s feel softer and track the cracks in the road a little more than the 265s; although I am not sure why that is happening.

Bump on the Atturo AZ850 to ask where people are buying these from other than Walmart & Amazon?

Google brings up a few online retailers, and of course eBay, but curious which of these sellers are trustworthy since none of the big name tire dealers carry them.

Heads up ebay has a $150 off coupon for tires right now. I think I saw the Atturos on the list.

Summer tires that are cheap...Atturo AZ850's?

I just googled them and they brought me to some random tire website and i just went for it not knowing if i would actually get them or not lol i got 265s though. still have them 10k later, still a pretty decent amount of tread, good grip when youre launching, good in the rain, also not terrible in the snow. Im gunna buy them again probably when these ones are no good anymore.

Edit: i just searched atturo az850 265 40 21. A set of 4 came up from the seller “simpletire”
. With the TIRES22 code its 682.42 shipped. Pretty damn good price right there and im considering buying a set just to have them ready to go since id be saving 150 bucks.

Thank you for the info on these tires. I'm about at the end of usable tire tread on my Pirelli P Zeros (255/40-21) on my 2016 SQ5. I'm just concerned about possible tire rub since I've got the ST coilovers as well as wheel spacers (20mm rear / 12.5mm front). Anyone have issues running the 265''s with lowered suspension vs 255's as OEM size?

Thanks for that. Yesterday I was comparing simpletire's eBay listing with their own site and the price was cheaper on their own site (almost $90 less). But with coupon on eBay, I'd end up saving about $62.

I purchased a set of these for my SQ5 from online tires for $667 shipped. They are on my 21" OEM wheels with 10mm front and 15mm rear spacer. The ride is very soft especially compared to the stock Pirelli summer sport tires. There is some sidewall flex but that's ok I'm not looking to track it or go crazy. It fills up the fender to wheel gap nicely as well with the stock suspension. I'm at 1,800 miles and the wear looks good so far. I'll report back to see how many miles I get out of them.
