    Anyone run 5x112->5x114.3 lug conversion?

    I'm looking at running one of these conversions to run 5x114 wheels (and i don't want to only run wobble bolts) and was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with them?

    I was always scared of wobble bolts too. Ran some for a summer a couple years ago though and didn't have any issues.

    thanks for the response - i think they are probably okay, i've also seen some things that seem to indicate that they did some damage to the inside of the wheel seat? not sure if that's true or not.

    truth be told, studs are so much easier to deal with mounting wheels that i might just do it for that lol.

    I've never ran wobble bolts but since my B7 days and now my B8.5, I've done the stud conversion to the same specs as your OP (14mm > 12mm x 1.5). I personally have never ran 5x114.3 wheels but I know plenty of guys that run 5x114.3 wheels from same stud conversion with no problems.

    You ran the conversion for the convenience of running studs then? Or a different reason?

    I think with hubcentric rings i should be okay on 5x114.3? I was going to test fit my old ZE40s but everything was so gross with the snow i decided to wait.

    i usually have 3 - 4 sets of wheels that i'm always rotating throughout the seasons and for different events. and switching up conical vs ball seat lug bolts were a pain in the ass tbh. it was more effective for the conversion for my setups, and in case i ever messed something up, replacing a stud or a nut was cheap.

    as for hubrings, i would imagine everything will center up just fine.

    Appreciate your feedback! It took me a little while to understand why would still be able to run 5x112 AND 5x114.3 but i think it makes more sense, particularly after reading this https://forums.vwvortex.com/showthre...tud-Conversion although the last couple posts suggests that even with the conversion the 'safest' way is still to run wobble nuts with the studs... :/

    I'll probably order some ridiculously expensive wheels and then end up selling them for a huge loss so i figured i might as well make the secondary market audience as broad as possible :D
