Hood Latch Switch Wiring for 2002 S4

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am trying to fix my hood latch switch (always shows closed even if the hood is open), and can't figure out how it's wired.
I tried shorting the connector to the switch, and it still showed closed.
The wiring for this car looks very different than my 2001 S4 used to.

Any diagrams or experience would be awesome!

    OK, new game plan.
I cut out and spliced every wire I saw, and there are no other codes or things not working.

The car used to be tip, but was converted to 01E, and I am wondering if there's some sort of wiring that went through the tip wiring that I messed up when I removed the tip harness back a bit.

Very interesting I found this in the abandoned tip wiring harness that I removed.
I don't fully understand this yet, but it looks like it connects two wires, and I am not sure that has a net effect on the other side of the harness. Need to ring out...

And the entire harness section that was removed:

I believe the circuit works as follows: Circuit Open, hood closed. Circuit closed, hood open. So when you have it unplugged or there is a break in the wiring (open), the alarm should be sensing that the hood is closed.

Looks like you want F120 on this

Then track 64 if you need it

This is my understanding as well.

Thanks for the diagrams, are they for a 2002? The wiring on this car is different from both B5's i've owned before (99& 01). I'll start ringing out the wires tomorrow and go from there.

Where did you get the diagrams from BTW?

Through all data. Even though the filters are set to 2000, like you’ve said I’ve seen some discrepancies before. So, use them for guidance but don’t count on them lol

I am usually pretty good with wiring diagrams, but I can't see how this diagram relates to the "64" in the first post.
Can you help me out so I can go attack this.
