How long can you drive on a bad wheel bearing?

I took my car to the shop and the identified it is the front passenger wheel bearing that is bad. Luckily that is covered under my extended warranty but the next appointment is in 1-2 weeks.
Is there a risk or just a loud noise?

Is the noise too loud, honestly I've been driving on a bad front bearing for a couple months now. You'll be fine for a couple of weeks if it doesn't shake like an earthquake.

My winter car (b5a4 Quattro) the rear wheel bearings where so noisy I almost needed ear plugs I drove for 6months like that until my dad drove my car and started chrippin me. I changed them 2-3 weeks ago now it’s quite.

My bearing weren’t loose tho just noisy even after 6 months, if your are loose then they won’t last long every bearing different how you drive etc all play factors

FWIW when i thought I had a bad wheel bearing, my shop told me not to drive it. It can get ugly depending on how bad it is. I don't know from experience, but i would suspect it may damage the cv joints at some point?

if it were me, i would park it.

I drove about 2000 miles from when i first heard the bearing noise. It got progressively worse.

I'd say that if you don't have vibration or looseness in the wheel, it is ok to drive on for a bit. Take it easy until you get it fixed, no aggressive driving.

I think all depends on how bad. I would hope Audi or a 3rd party shop wouldn't identify a problem and give you the keys back if you were at major risk.

I just had my front passenger wheel bearing replaced and it was making a pretty loud noise that could be slightly heard over the radio if the volume was set to about 10. I would say that I drove on it for about 3 or 4 weeks until I finally had it fixed. I also think this problem started about a year ago as I now think this little clicking noise when I turned left was my wheel bearing. I won't know for sure until I can consitently drive with the windows down again.

Years! 1-2 weeks should be no issue.

People drive on bad wheel bearings for extended periods all the time. Some people don't even know they have a bad wheel bearing till a tire/brake shop tells them. Especially if they can't hear the roar.

Yup i this exactly. I new what it was. I just couldn’t be bothered.
I must say 3 years later it was due. I only did it because the noise from the passenger seat grew louder than the noise from the wheel.
