    255/35/R19 vs 265/30/R19 on 19x9.5 et 35?

Just ordered some new rims for my car today, got some 19x9.5 Vorsteiner VFF-108s. I'm having some trouble deciding on what size tire to get. I can deal with a little stretch, but overall not a huge fan of the look.

I'm getting some Continental DWS06's since I will be in an area with a moderate amount of snow, but don't want to go with a summer + winter setup just yet.

Anybody got some good opinions they would care to share about 255/35/R19 vs 265/30/R19 on 19x9.5? Pictures would be helpful as well if anyone has some good ones.

Leaning towards 255/35s, but if there's anything I should know in order to help make the decision let me know.

    Thanks

    Edit: Car is stock otherwise.

I have vmr 710 19x9.5 with 255/35 Michelin pilot sport a/s. Good fit, some tire brands run wide/narrow. I didn't want to worry about rub.

def go with the 255 35 the dws -06 run wide and dont stretch that well. Im running the same spec wheels and with my old blizzaks it didnt rub at all..when i installed my dsw 06 it was rub city. had to raise all four corners.

    255/35/R19 vs 265/30/R19 on 19x9.5 et 35?

I have pilot sport A/S3+ 255/19/35, DWS06 will run more narrow than this, I also had 245/19/35 DSW06 on my 19x9.5 before changing into A/3+.

You might also wanna include your suspension setup.

I don't like the stretched look either. I have some 19x9.5s (et40) on order for the Spring as well, and am trying to decide between taking a gamble on some 265/35 tires or playing it safe with standard 255/35. I'd MUCH prefer the extra meat, but I'll also be installing OE Sport springs (and Koni yellows) in the Spring as well. So.

There's a giant sticky thread on this topic... I suggest you check it out. You can even search in that particular thread.

+1 on the 255/35/R19 with the Blizzaks when it comes to a winter setup. Since ownership of the car back in January of '17, I've had those puppies on the car each winter...and two very harsh winters later, they've still got ample meat on them, with no issues otherwise. And I ain't no granny behind the wheel neither!

I run the same 255/35/R19 spec with my Pirelli P Zero's as my summer setup, but will - without a doubt - go for the Michelin Pilot Super Sport's/Michelin Pilot Super Sport 4S's when I wear the tread down as they're just that much more superior in every regard when it comes to a performance tire.

I'm stock otherwise as well, OP - good luck!

Ooooh, now THAT'S what I like to see!! You're obvs stock height, eh? What offset are the wheels? If you shaved an inch off the ride height, is there any doubt you'd have some serious rubbing issues?

On an S5 there is TONS of room. With my offsets of et33 i'd have zero issue with rubbing at any height but you all need different offsets. You guys would have to be at more like et45 and make certain you can clear both inside and outside (on strut and on fender). Its been done though. The eurocode car I believe ran 275 on wide track tires too

with that offset you're going to need to get the 255's. i know you're not lowered, but people that are sometimes run into issues with 255s with that offset. i wouldnt go any wider
