Wheel color

I’m going to purchase a new set of wheels soon and I can’t decide if a dark graphite color or gloss black will look better. My exterior color is silver. If you have a silver car please post a picture of your car with your wheels to help me make my decision. Thanks.

its not on your list, but id recommend clear aluminum, silver, or light-medium grey. these go with any color car and is timeless.

Dark wheels still look the best in my opinion. Those lighter color wheels look like old man cars to me LOL!

Perfect example of why NOT to do black wheels.. Can you see the wheels on any of those vehicles?? Nope. Didn't think so. Why spend money on different wheels when they get lost in your vision from 10ft away. Black wheels always wash out unless you're 3ft away ..

I have tornado grey, I'm personally going towards a lighter color to contrast the color of the vehicle.

Im not sure calling black wheels dated is accurate as the Black Optik is still an available option box to check off. I saw a Q8 at the dealer today that was blacked out. Black wheels IMO have to be pulled off correctly. You can’t just slap black wheels on it. They have to be the right wheel style, right exterior color, right tire size. It also depends on the look the OP Is going for. Classy, aggressive, elegant. Will it look good? Maybe. Can it look good? Yes.

Thanks for the replies. I want some contrast between the silver and the wheels. I want darker wheels to create that contrast. I have seen some bronze wheels but I’m not sure how they will look with the silver exterior. The wheels I’m looking at are:IMG_3404.JPGIMG_3364.JPG

I went with gloss graphite colored wheels against Tornado Gray. If being 100% honest, it’s nice for contrast but darker than I would’ve liked. Unfortunately, it was that or straight-up silver in the wheel that I liked.

I actually came across that pic of your car when I was wheel shopping, and it helped convince me to go with the gunmetal color. Looks great to me!

I think those are great and I’ve thought about going with 20’s.

I also think the RS7 Performance black wheels look amazing which I what I have. I’ll try to get a better picture.

Black wheels were a novelty at one point, now it's so commonplace and applied to cars with little style to begin with that it just looks cheap and trashy. While the concept of contrast sounds nice, far too many details of the wheel are lost by blacking it out, gloss or otherwise. I'd be pissed in awsherro's shoes buying a C7.5 with nice two-tone machined OEM wheels that got blasted by black paint before I even had a chance to see it in original condition. Seeing OEM wheels blacked out is warning sign for poor taste and bad mods, lumped in with dust-covered engines due to Roc-Euro hot-air intakes and Nissan 350Zs or G37s with kazoo exhausts.

I personally detest black or dark colored rims but the beauty of life is choice. That being said I do like dark with machine face and this set on eBay is tempting me to purchase and get machined on de face.
