Which tire brand have you been most pleased with?

Cross post: My '15 S5 had new tires 11K miles ago as CPO car but they're already wearing down to 4/32 according to Disc Tire tech. I rotated at 6K miles. They are Pirelli P Zero I believe.

I want to know which are the better tires for the $$ before I start shopping around.

As you won't have to worry about winter tires in Texas, I found the Pirelli P Zero's for a summer tire to be fantastic for my spirited-driving needs. I have intentions on switching over to Michelin Pilot Super Sport's once I wear down the P Zero's...and those Michelin's are leaps and bounds better, from what I've heard/read.

I'm certain purely summer tires would be sufficient for his climate.

Also - if I could give you another piece of advice, OP? Don't cheap-out on tires.

They're the only piece of equipment that is in direct contact with the road...and if you decide to penny-pinch to save some coin on a discount tire? I'd take more than your average caution into account when behind the wheel.

I’ve always been a fan of Michelin. Had the PS4S on my S4 and really liked them. Running their A/S 3+ now and am very pleased - haven’t noticed any performance lose compared to the stock Conti.

Had a very good experience with Bridgestone S-04 PP's, and when they wore out, I followed the herd and have been running PSS for my current summers. Showing excellent wear, but I've always been religious about checking tire pressures and rotating every 3-5k.

When did you last have an alignment? Seems excessive even though those only have a 220 tread wear rating, I see they offer no warranty.

never really liked Continental based on past experience. I prefer Michelin, so all my cars have Michelin AS3+ or Pilot Super Sport tires (PS4S later this year).

I’m hopping on the Michelin train. I had a set of MPSS on my BRZ, and the PS4S are supposed to be an upgrade over those, which were fantastic tires.

I prefer Bridgestone tires. If you want a grippy summer only tire the RE-71R's are amazing but will not last long depending on the car setup and driving style. The WS-80's are fantastic winter tires. In particular what I like about Bridgestone is their very stiff sidewall. It comes at the cost of a heavier tire which many on here dislike as it adds rotating mass. But for me it is a tradeoff I am willing to take.

    I’ve tried continentals , pirellis , Bridgestone.

I bought a set of Michelin pilot sport 4S last summer and was blown away.... leagues better.

P4S for summers: like them VASTLY better than PSS, to which I prefer the stock contis (except for longevity: PSS better there).

P4S super grippy like contis and last much longer.

When I bought the car it came with Michelin PSS and I loved them. Replaced them with Continentals Contisports which made road noise after 5,000 miles. I'm using Hankook V12s and will get another set after they wear out. For winter tires I use Nexen Winguard Sport 2s and they are amazing for the price.

I put on a set of Michelin PS4S about 6 months ago and love them. Pretty quiet and great grip. Here in South Florida we don't have the wide range of weather
like the rest of the country, so it's mostly lots of sun and rain. I'm a "spirited" driver, and truly impressed with these. Would definitely recommend.

My wife's 328i was running on Conti ExtremeContact DWS 06: really good overall but the tread life was disappointing. As she's clearly the more moderate driver, I just replaced
the Conti's with the Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS. According to her, the difference is noticeable and she's happy with them.

Prior to choosing the Michelins, I read the following post regarding "Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 vs Michelin Pilot 4s". Great points made on both sides:
    https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...helin-Pilot-4s

Also, as Envy187 mentioned don't cheap-out on tires. Solid advice.

Agree with the Michelin crew: I run PS4S in summer and love them. This winter I switched away from the noisiest winter tires ever, Pirelli P-Zeros (so noisy that at the end I had to apologize to anyone in the passenger seat). Currently I am running 245/40R-18 MICHELIN X-ICE XI3 RF. They are every bit as sticky in snow and ice, and way way quieter.

Michelin hands down. It’s a small premium to pay for superior product. Hankooks are a great bang for buck and Can often be bought at great prices.

I've been really happy with my set of General GMax RS summer tires. Excellent dry grip, great wet grip and not as harsh as i thought for 19" 35 series tires. I'll definitely be getting another set when I order new wheels.

Bridgestone RE-71R for my daily summers, Bridgestone LM01's for my winters. No better summer tires then these for the road period. I've used Michelins in the past and they all wear on the outer/inner edges and turn to garbage because of the vehicles heavier weight and rotation.
My favourite mod is 87 octane premium gas.

I've had conti dws06 and live in Iowa. Through two years of snow, ice, and summer those things just grip. Wife's car (B8 A4) has hancook A/S tires and they are just junk in anything remotely slippery.

I'd love to have separate tires though. If you can only have one set for all seasons contis are the way to go...if you live where it will be warm year round, get michelins.

On another lighter sportier car than my SUV in signature, I've come to love the Extreme Performance Summer rated Yokohama Neo Advan AD-08R.

It is very close to R rated racing compound, but with very decent tread life. I don't know if they come in the sizes you guys run, but these tires really stick, dry and wet. Just no ice or snow.

I wouldn't know how a video-game console would compare to a tire, but I would only assume four ContiSportContact tires would achieve better results when driving instead of four PlayStation 4's mounted to your wheel assembly's.

    Just my two cents.

I stick to the top tier offerings from Bridgestone and Michelin and have been very happy with the last 6 or so sets I've had. I've never had PSS4 though and I've heard of some balancing issues with those.
