Which wrap comes the closest to nardo grey

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    hi everyone,

Ive seen some people wrap their car in "nardo grey" but just like the paint itself, the wraps all look different in different light situations.

From my car wrapper I got a piece of oracal telegrey to compare it with a real nardo car. The wrap was a bit brighter compared to the paint.

Does anyone here have some experience with a wrap that comes really close to the original paint?

Vvivid makes a Nardo Grey but not sure how close to the original color it actually is.

    Thank you!
Its really weird. The wrap always looks different, Im at a stage where I think its not possible to have a 100% matching wrap as any grey from a wrap looks different in various light situations but so does nardo in real life and from what Ive seen from pictures of forum members.

    Difficult decisions lol

Not the best pictures to show off the color, but my wrap is a shade darker than Nardo which I kind of prefer. It's Avery Dark Gray vinyl.

I like this quite a bit. Almost better than the standard nardo.

Thank you sir! Do you have some more pictures of your car from other angles?
I did some research on google and I think Avery Dark Grey Gloss is the closest to nardo one can get. Saw a video from a R8 that is wrapped in Avery and it looks 100% like nardo in certain angles and light.

Will take a look at the wrap at my local wrapper and see how much in differs from telegrey in real life but I think I leaning towards Avery now. Thanks a lot!

Sure thing, here's a few more. In the sun I think it still appears a little darker than Nardo, best I can tell. I wish I could see them side by side one day. If I was you, I'd determine what brand and model vinyl you want and order a sample of each color (usually a couple bucks each). With them in hand you can see first hand what they look like in the shade and in the sun, as you will see a basic gray can really change colors depending on the lighting.

    Thanks for sharing!
I agree, it definitley is a shade darker compared to nardo but I actually like it.

On some of your pictures it really does look like OEM nardo and on various youtube videos Ive got a similar impression.

At this point Im glad I asked here as I would have gone with Telegrey from Oracal which in comparison is way brighter and less greyish.

I actually have a sample of the Vvivid , and its too blue to be called nardo grey. Theyre just capitalizing on the colors popularity with a similar shade

No wrap will ever be as rich and "milky?!" as the original paint but as wrapping the car isnt that expensive in germany, Ill give it a shoot.

I have a sample of Avery Gloss Dark Grey and am waiting on a second sample of Avery's 'Gloss Grey', which looks to be a bit lighter. Nardo may end up being somewhere in between the two.
