So this is my first post on Audizine. I am sharing this because I searched everywhere and couldn't find any help for this Mod. I appreciate in advance some of you will not like my modification. Some of you will, im posting it for you and from a technical standpoint. I am not posting it for opinions on my style, or your style, or tastes. Thats what makes capitalism great! You can make money, buy whatever you want, and do whatever you want to it!!!


if everyone was the same, life would be pretty damn boring! So I hope this helps someone who is looking for a safe way to add a simple LED accessory without tapping into a fuse box.

Hey this is a really nice MOD. I feel you people just see that it's inexpensive it's cheap , bottom line your happy , your car , you enjoy it. If my S5 was manual I would've definitely done this MOD .
I did a similar MOD , I installed led strip on the door panels as ambient lights and I love it and best of all just under $10 but people look at it like crap cause of the price now I've seen expensive crappy stuff people buy that leaves me SMH , but that's there business this is mines .IMAG3798.jpeg

Preach! you hit the nail on the head! Bro I have a Mercedes S65 AMG with that ambient lighting and the sticker on that car was more than most peoples houses. Your $10 MOD is not cheap looking it sets the curve for what auto companies do to their vehicles. Every year they look at people like us that modify their vehicles. Im old but I can remember when finding a 22” tire was extremely expensive, now they are factory.

I just recently did a rs5 trunk retrofit on my S5 and I'm experimenting with led lights so when the spoiler raises , I put these for now but I'm still searching for the best look IMAG3914_1.jpeg

dude that is slick love it. I am looking at doing the sequential retrofit on turn signal mirrors. I already replaced the housings with carbon fiber housings. But your wing is sick!!! post a video on how you did it!

Yeah found them from China same seller that I got my carbon mirror shells from stock mirror LED is so dim can believe Audi OEM mirror is that dim?

I've been wanting to do this. How did you go about it? Can you just plug in a brighter bulb or is there soldering involved?

I used 3mm red LED bulbs you can get on Ebay very cheap $$ and it comes with the grommet. What I did was reverse the grommet that fits exactly on the oem bulb housing and also drilled the grommet a bit so the bulb will fit all the way , then used the connector from the OEM bulb and wired it with the new one (note, must eliminate resistors on OEM connectors in order to get the full brightness) so just wire it straight up to the power connector. 20191203_090307.jpeg20191203_090321.jpeg20191203_090232.jpeg20191203_090155.jpeg

Thats the link of the led badge. I wired it to the trunks oem cargo light and used a resistor on the + wire. I also shaved the studs of the badge and glued it to the liner.
