Good condition Turbo Concepts Stage 1 Turbochargers (Turbo Concepts info)

    My review of them.

Just under 4300 miles on them. Running fine at the time of removal, I have three other sets of turbos I need to get installed and evaluated so these are up for grabs.

Price: $950 shipped in the U.S.

    Hey,

been reading your review and threads about these Turbos all day. I also read a lot on your webpage and also researched Turbo concepts website.
I'm interested in buying these from you, but i still have some concerns about the item and if its the right fit for my setup.

I have an 01 AR that i just converted to the O1e after the TIP failed 6 yrs ago and had it stored till a few weeks ago. Before i put it in storage, i had my K03's rebuilt at a local company here in the CLT area. During my swap i had my ECM recoded for the 6mt swap and upgrade to stage 1+ by Eurowise, also local who wrote a custom tune. So, last week i finished the swap and everything ran fine till my passeger side turbo blew white smoke all over the neighborhood. They only lasted 70mi after spending $600 on the rebuild.
I am not planning on going stage 3+ i much rather have a reliable daily driver stage 1+ , maybe stage 2 the most.

If i was to buy these Turbo's, what additional tune would you recommend to make these reliable with my setup. I'm all stock besides the st1 tune and piggie pipes.
Based on your Thread you purchased those sometime late 2016 early 2017, so i assume they wont have any warranty left, right?

Turbo Concepts offers a 12 month warranty at purchase, so you are correct, they are no longer covered by the warranty.

I think your best bet for tuning would be to contact Brad at German Elite Tuning or Blake at ETSpec, either should be able to give you a recommendation.

I've used them with an RS4 MAF an 60# EV14 injectors. I think 52# injectors would be fine depending on how you tuned the boost. I drove with a 24 psi onset that tapered to 22 psi and the IDC reached around 70% maximum.

I do use paypal but am not lowering the price.

Any other mods you have for sale besides the turbos?

    Maf, injectors, inlets?

Still indecisive about the Turbo's, not much information about them.

Nothing for a basic K04 setup.

What information are you interested in?

Odd question, but theoretically are these housings able to fit BW RS6 Chras with no modification or are they machined to accept custom cartridges

They were removed from the car and set on the ground on the DP side of the turbine housing. In that orientation oil on the journal bearings will pool on the turbine piston ring and leak past. There's nothing wrong with them. The turbos are installed with the shaft parallel to the ground and the oil outlet on the bottom so the oil drains down and not past the piston ring.

You mean besides the thorough four page write up with logs and dyno results that the OP has on his webpage?

Yes, that is exactly what i meant by that. Besides Flyboys writeup and testing their is nothing else online that could be considered valuable independent review information of this product.

I've just gotta say it. The guy selling these has provided more info on them than the manufacturer has. He has more time and experience in the platform than most. And I would certainly trust that he responsibly installed, operated, and removed them more than the average seller on the forums. His results say they perform more or less like K04s, you just can't get nearly new K04s for $950.
