Not that I am looking. Really I am not - I dont want a luxobarge but damn these seem way cheaper than RS7’s.
It would be fun to see peoples faces when you run 10’s

The S8 always had more rated power than S6/S7 owing to dual intakes/air filters, software, ZF trans and a few other items 520HP/480lb-ft.
Still slightly less than RS7's 560/516 but not as much as the RS7 performance's or S8 plus 605/516 both of which you are right would still command a premium today but also might be a year or two newer.

What's different about the S8 plus motor? I was guessing it was simply a tuning difference.

The S8 has better cooling, low compression block (9.3:1), larger main bearing journal & larger turbos, like the RS7. From Audi SSP 92033, Printed 5/2012.

So basically a detuned RS6/7, right? Same engine internals and same zf gearbox.

I just looked up the weight difference
    About 4500lb for rs7 and 4680 for S8

I’m really not a fan of the S8 front though. Headlights never looked good to me.

I love the S8 but I bet all that tech is not going to age well.

If the damn rear seats folded I might have pulled the trigger on one already. Pricing definitely seems to be lower overall than used RS7s and more power and I would guess equal or greater tuning potential than the S6. My 2013 S6 is still in good shape and a joy to drive, but the only reason I haven't had to make a decision on future plans yet (including proactively dealing with possible future turbo failure) is my current 1-year war vacation. Once I get back from this deployment, I'll have a real decision on my hands of keeping the S6 and going Stage 3, hunting down a used RS7, S8, or E63 Wagon, or picking up an '18 S6 or the C8 whenever it arrives. Back when I owned a regular A6 3.0t, I gave a guy in a regular A8 4.0t a run. He demolished me. But then again, my appreciation for the S8 dates back to its great performance in Ronin. As my daily driver though, I really wish they'd put the fricking 80/20 or whatever the split ratio is for the rear seats. I've had to drop my seats more times than I can count to haul over-sized supplies and even luggage to try living with out it.

That and the fact that the trunk in the S8 is tiny for such a large vehicle.. When I was looking, it was debatable if all the family's luggage could actually fit in there.. Decided to just get the S6 instead...
