Smile 55k service B8.5 service schedule and part list?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Can anyone point me to a resource that lists out the specific items that need to be done for the 55k service? I just hit 55k and am a little behind on figuring out what needs to be done and gathering the parts.

    Thanks in advance!

Found it! Looks like I will need to order oil, oil filter, dust and pollen filter, spark plugs, and supercharger belt.

Is replacing the supercharger belt really necessary if there is no visible damage? Looks like this was replacement interval went from 75k miles to 55k miles from the B8 to B8.5.

    Thanks!

The belt is probably the easiest part of the service so I wouldn't skip it. For the low cost and the piece of mind its worth just doing it.

Is the "Ribbed V Belt" just the super charger belt over the SC and crank pulleys?

I'm coming up on my 55k mile service as well and this chart made me realize that I've pretty much already taken care of all the necessary stuff in the last 10k miles, after going stage 2 and upgrading the HX. New SC belt, fresh coolant, new spark plugs with proper gapping and fresh oil/filter every 5k. If the belt they are referring to is the SC belt that gets replaced when you go stage 2, then it looks like I just need to replace the cabin air filter and pollen filter and call it a day.

    Correct me if I'm mistaken.

100% correct as far as I know. Buy a new CAI and all you have to do is he cabin filter

LOL! I replaced the OEM filter with a AFE Pro dry S filter when I installed the 034 inlet hose about 15k miles ago.

What a nice little surprise this is! Looks like I'm good to go for the foreseeable future (aside from the cabin filter). Just need to change my brake pads and brake fluid at some point when they get low enough.

That’s basically the extent of service. At 70-75k revisit your dsg fluid and filter if that’s your transmission. Potentially earlier if you are stage 2 as you mentioned. Audi suggests every 35k but the timers suggest slightly shorter intervals.

Yeah, the DSG fluid/filter (and sport diff fluid, I believe) were changed at 35k. I'll get that changed again around 65k to be on the safe side, now that I'm stage 2.

I've gotta say, coming from the Subaru world, I really expected the maintenance on the S4 to be considerably worse. That's not the case.

Well this is the ‘preventative’ maintenance. We still have plenty of things (anything plastic/sport dif/ mechatronic/cats/internal intercoolers) that could potentially go wrong. Only age will tell.

Indeed. This is the most complicated primary powertrain I’ve ever owned so it will be interesting to see the design durability of all the individual systems beyond 75k

Lucky for us the b8.5 is only a mostly fixed version of the b8 and the b8 hardly had any major issues. Without jinxing myself I could see this chassis/motor being fine to 100k. I’ve only been told the OE struts are of great quality so I don’t see them needing a refresher anytime soon.

Are these the plugs that most of y'all are running for B8.5 S4s?

6 New NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug BKR9EIX # 2669

My research revealed that there was a changing of the part number from B8 to B8.5 so it's a bit tricky figuring out which one is the actual OEM plug number for B8.5.

Fine meaning you won’t have to deal with any pesky little gremlins. Every car gets them as they age so it would be insane to pretend they don’t exist. But not for the next 2 years in my case.

Which plugs are you running, sir? I see that you, too, have a B8.5.

I went through some old texts and found I purchased OEM NGK and was advised to tap them down to .026”. I changed them prematurely as I had a misfire on startup cel being thrown shortly after getting the car so it was a while ago and I started documenting everything after the fact. Sorry for the ambiguity.
