Hello everyone, I have a question in regards to 21" rims options. I had an s7 2014 and still have a set of 21" 10.5 inch et 33 velos d5 rims left over that I never tried to sell. Now my current lease is running up on X6m and am really liking the new rs5 sportback. I did a quick search online but haven't really seen anything about the rs5 with 21" option. The bolt pattern and hub are the same for both vehicles, only thing is tire size as 295/25 r21 is the correct equivalent to the stock diameter. Can anyone shime in if I might be able to reuse the set.

    Update:
OK I see the ABT is using 21's, with 275/25r21 tires. Anyone have a clue where can this size be ordered? Checked online but no luck. I see that it's a continental tire they are using but I can't get that size from their website. US or Euro website.

You're 295/25 could very well fit. I'd try those first. 275/25 has quite a thin sidewall.

The wheel specs are totally good. You could even run a 3-5mm spacer.

I tried doing internet search on all sorts of sites. Only 25 sidewall i found starts at 295 width. Wondering if ABT had a special size made for their version.

So we have a client thats using his 275/30/21 tires on his RS5 Coupe and he is STOCK HEIGHT and isnt having issues. It IS too tall for the car but it can work.

We have a few sets of the new Continental 275/25/21 Coming in but they wont be here for another 45 days or so.

Here are the images of the RS5 on the 275/30/21's on 21x10.5 ET30's

Thanks Alex. Now I know it will work. Wondering how much those tires will be. Seeing as how it's a very limited size option. I do have time to wait...lease up in august.

    Hey Alex,

I'm currently researching a similar set-up, but will go for a 275/25/21 or a 295/25/21 - Do you think the 295 would have issues with rubbing?

    TIA

Good morning! 295/25/21 is tall but it’s been done. That said, it might rub if you lower. We haven’t had any issues with the taller 275/30/21 on a stock height car but technically it’s too tall as well.

Thanks for the info Sean. Much appreciated.
I am intending on lowering. Do you think that additional 3.95mm of height/gap loss would cause too much of an issue?

I’m still assessing where I need to go. Not only do I live in the UK but I also live in the country, so don’t want to have rubbing issues. I had an A7 Black Edition on 21” 275/30/21 and had no issues but we aren’t comparing apples with apples.

    Thanks

    Hey guys,

Thought I'd add Vorsteiner just released their 21x10 ET30 V-FF 109. They would be a great 21" fitment for these cars.

Hi! I had a 2016 A7. Purchased 21” tsw Bathurst tat are 21x10.5 et32 they fit PERFECT on my A7.
    Just purchased a 2019 s5 sportback
I put them on and they do fit without the need for spacers but I feel that back may rub a little.
The tire size is 275/30/21. So hope that helps. The wheel well liner comes in towards the tire closer to the shocks of the car and I feel that’s where it runs somewhat. I could cut the liner and they will fit perfectly.

But 21x 10.5 et32 perfect but tire 275/30/21 runs slightly I rear. Hope that helps.

Hmmm sounds like 295/25/21 wouldn’t have much wiggle room...

    Sorry bro; forgot to ask:

Have you lowered the car or are you at stock height?

    TIA

That is just it. The two differ quite a bit. I could not attest for the gap difference on this one unfortuantely.

Ok, so I looked into this a little more.

I’ve compared the common 20x10.5 setup on 285/30/20 Rubber to my intended 21x10.5 with 295/25/21 Rubber.

What I’m seeing is a Ride height gain and Arch gap loss of 0.95mm.

Looks like it’ll work but has to be on the 25mm profile.

@sd761 the like reason you’re having rubbing issues is it’s 8.75mm taller than the set up I’m gonna go with. If you switch to a 25mm profile you should be sweet

    TIA

Edit: just realised we’re only talking MM! Haha - I don’t know what my mind was telling me - *SMH*
Maybe the 21x10.5 is just too wide?

    IDK?

Yes you won’t rub up top. It’s he back. See my fingers in first pic. You have plenty of room there. The second pic bc the liner comes in towards the tire is where you might have an issue. My middle finger in the second pic is the issue and you can see how much space you lose as you go in towards the inner wheel well.
