No turn signals, horn, wipers, windows dont work - Please help!!

    Good morning all,
I did some research as quickly as I could since the issues just happened this morning and it could be the ignition switch or bad battery (new battery installed little over a year ago, so I sincerely doubt that it is the battery unless the alternator is going bad, will have it tested at lunch). This is on a 2003 A4 1.8t FWD.

Unlocked the car normally this morning with the fob (fob stopped working after all of this happened - does not lock or unlock)
    Additional controls not working:
turn signals, horn, high beams, windshield wipers, windows, the radio stays on once I turn of the car

No water under the battery and as much as I could see no water under the ECU, however the carpet where the gas pedal is slightly wet.

Low beams and fog lights work.

Forgot to mention, the ABS and Traction control light turned on as well.

Please point me in the right directions if you can. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a bad J519 or a flooded J393.I would pull the carpet up on the driver front see if you have water in there.Chances are yes if you saw water. My guess is water intrusion into vehicle from ebox cover. Most liekly burned up J393.

I ended up scrapping the car when this happened but I found the part in the steering column could have been the culprit. The part that the wiper stalk etc plug into.
This is the part here but you must match part numbers.

I wish our had found that out before scrapping the car as it was a quattro now I'm stuck with a fwd

I lost high beam, wipers, headlight flash, driver information system, indicators, radio playing up, it affected so many things.

I hope you get it sorted

Hey guys, my comfort control module got fried due to the water leak. It is currently being fixed. Where could this water be coming from. I try to keep my two drains in the front clear of debris. The car does not have a sun roof. Is there another place where the water could be leaking into the cabin and causing this? Thanks for all of your help!

Usually it is from a clogged drain underneath the brake booster. It can also leak in from the back side of the ECM box, but that generally causes a multitude of other issues as well as a wet floor.

Thanks so much for your help. When you say multitude of other issues, what kind of issues are we talking about. Shop just called me after installing a new CCM and having it programmed at the Audi dealership, stating that the blinkers were still not working and that the hazard lights were on constantly, which of course drained the battery while at the Audi dealership. Very frustrated with this issue.

    Thanks again for your help.

You need to replace your CECM (Central Electric Control Module). The CECM controls the outside lights and wipers. It is located underneath the dash above the drivers legs. The CCM controls the remote door locks, door control modules and interior floor well lighting and puddle lights.

When water leaks under the dash it can get on the CECM as it drips down to the carpet.
