    Allroad vs C5 A6 headlights (01)

I'm thinking about swapping my headlights out with some allroad ones. Is there an ideal year?

My C5 has "hella" oem headlights which were put in by the PO. They look good and are quite bright. I clear cornered them and left a few small scratches on the chrome housing.. Ugh. Not noticeable, but still.

Would the AR headlights be just as bright?

At this point a stock AR projector (any older projector really) is going to probably kind of suck and won't necessarily be worse but they won't be an upgrade. I do prefer the dual round look over the A6 lights so I get that, but it won't really be a performance change unless you modify them at the same time.

Depending on what year your A6 is AR lights might not even fit but you could possibly swap the ar guts over to the a6 housing.

C5 allroad headlights did not change between 2001-2005
only difference is HID vs halogen and US vs rest of the world
Europeans headlights look better than US.
Allroad headlights dimensionally perfect fit only to V6 pre-facelift
They do not fit any V8 models and would leave a gap on post facelift V6 C5
There are also electrical differences between A6 and Allroad headlight, you would have to swap leveling motors and harness.

Can someone post a side by side comparison. I have the bi-xenon A6 C5 headlights - I thought they were cross compatible so they fit the C5 Allroad and Non-Allroad models

they are not compatible. Starting 02 shape changed. But even pre-facelift A6 and allroad are different. One of the differences is leveling system. It may be possible to make them work by swapping leveling motors and connectors inside headlight.

Thanks, I have 6 regular bi-xenon headlights for the A6 C5 (for a 2004 A6 C5 Avant), I doubt anyone will buy since most folks here have the Allroad version.

    2004 A6 headlights will only fit 2002-2004 A6
It may not be a hottest commodity, but someone maybe looking to replace their broken headlights, so why not try to sell them
