Semi-Dynamic Turn Signal Indicator LED Taillight modules

Got dynamic Turn Signal Indicator LED Taillight module from e-bay. Tried it on inner lights with same result as for the outer. It was not easy to get access to inner light connector. Tried both modules (in case one was defective), tried adjusting timing with the screw on both modules. same result. No dynamic effect, they just repeat. Good outcome - did not brake anything, learned how to remove inner light assembly on a trunk. Can someone provide solution that worked on US models and is below $100? After all it's just a delay module.

I've contended that these were not made for our lights, coding or not - our tail light configuration is different internally from the ecode ones, as well as the plugs being different (which can easily be hacked to fit).

Even if they did work it would look weird wouldn't it? You'd have a rectangle shaped light with a 'sweep' effect, not a single line on the top sweeping for the blinker with a separated brake. You need the ecode light configuration for the delay module to work as intended - I used it on my old RS5 with OEM ecode tails and it was pretty cool.

Europrice sells the OEM C7 ecodes for like $1200, could probably get an eBay set for $600. Not sure about C7.5 options. I and a few other members went with an eBay/AliExpress facelift styled version for ~$700 that are ecode and dynamic (true sweeping).

Oh haha! If you go with an oem set from ebay you'll need a wiring harness from Alex@Europrice I think, he can confirm though. I think the pins in the connectors are different so they won't work out of the box. Needs coding too but that would be easy with vagcom.

I had a '12 A6 5 years ago and did a ton of research as I've always thought the NA tails were pretty lame with the big red rectangle brake/blinker.

My seller is shipping me new ones that they SWEAR will work with the USA lights..plugs, functionality and all. I am not holding my breath but will give them the benefit of doubt. Will update whenever they get here and I have had a chance to test them out. Tails will be the last thing I mod on this car for more than what I paid for these modules (if they ever work). I am not interested in the$500-$1000+ options out there as its just not that serious.

I'm certain they won't work on Na spec tails. Only because u cant even code the tails to flash like the euro ones. Its just not possible without changing some wires around.

Cool well onus is on them (seller) to provide me with a working product or a refund. I have a paper trail asking them to confirm it will work with USA models and they swore up and down this new batch will. Breath not held.

They might 'work' so to speak, but not as intended. As @ichid notes above, you can't code the tails to flash like the euro ones, so these delay modules will delay the entire brake&blinker segment - will look odd IMO but I'm definitely interested to see how they look when installed. Post pics when you get them in!

Huh? Blinks inwards, like opposite the direction you're turning?? Do you have a link to a video of their function on a C7, so curious now

I'm thinking he is refering to what gets adjusted timewise. I thought it was the outer unit that was being adjusted but goes to show how much I know. Lets see how this works out.

yeah that looks ridiculous IMO - it's sweeping the opposite direction that you're turning! Also, for all of the US guys who want this look it won't be possible unless you get the Europrice ecode tail light kit. Seems like a total bust for US cars with stock lights unfortunately

Also North American models would not be able to use semi-dynamic modules safely since the turn and brake are combined. Rest of World pre-facelift models can use the semi-dynamic modules but they should two step outwards, not inwards:

When they said it should go o the inner light I was yeah right. That video they sent you confirms they are stupid. The outer light should be delayed for the desired effect. I have very little faith that this next module wile either connect or slow down my OUTER

its never going to happen. like i said na spec cars arent able to code the turn signal with just the top strip. i been trying to just code them like the euro lights and it wont work.

The cost to do that and add semi-dynamic modules starts to creep up to fitting the post-facelift lights, though with A6, S6 pre-facelift sedan you do have the small hurdle of adding little spacers or building the bumper up on the outer lights to fill the small gap the post-facelift taillights leave.

Correct. Though the A7, S7, RS7 have a 100% direct fit with the post-facelift taillights which makes for an even easier fitment and decision. Post-facelift dynamic taillights FTW

So the new ones came in and, as everyone predicted, they don't work. Now I will say they are a MUCH improved product in terms of size but that does not stop them from being utterly useless for us. I have my light coded a little differently and what I found weird was with my non-standard coding the side marker was exhibiting the delay but not the outer lights. You can see this in the video below were the left side had he module affecting the side marker and the right side didn't so was blinking as standard (per my desired coding that is).



On a side note the good news is my dynamic turns in the mirrors are still chugging away like champs - for now.
