    1. What company do you use?
Alpha Warranty (A PLUS ENHANCED, 4WD OR AWD VEHICLE, TURBO OR SUPERCHARGER, ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE)

    2. What are the Terms?
Purchased a 2013 A7 PP with just under 80k, warranty is 5 years/100k miles (so, up to 180k), $100 deductible

    3. How much did it cost you?
    $2800

    4. One Time Payment or Monthly Installments?
    One time

    5. Brief description why you Like or dis like this company.
In the first few months, they've replaced 2 motor mounts which the Audi dealer quoted $1600 for. However, I had the work done at the independent dealer where I purchased the car from and there was no $100 deductible. I'm not sure how other companies are, but they have online claim tracking, which I like. The warranty covers a good amount of parts, too, which is why I opted for the more expensive one.

So, I have to say I am, thus far, completely satisfied and would recommend them.

just a heads up, double check your warranty terms. chances are the 100k miles is the total miles on the car, that the warranty covers, not 100k ontop of the mileage at the time of warranty purchase.

no offense taken. Thats not the norm of how warranties are quoted. and an excellent deal for a warranty to 180k. that will pay for itself a few times over.

and for relevant information to the thread..

Any of these aftermarket warranties going to cover the know oil separator issue on a slightly modified car (e.g. stage 1 + catback exhaust). I'd have no problem paying $2-$3K to have a peace of mind for if my turbos or even worse motor is damaged due to this known issue.

The coverage really depends on when you bought it and who the provider is. According to Troy, the Fidelity plans start the day you purchase it and at the mileage your vehicle has, the Safe-Guard plans are co-termed to date vehicle is first sold and start at mile 0. You must have either purchased your Fidelity warranty when your car was new or maybe you have the Audi branded Safe-Guard warranty? Hence the 7year/70k total coverage and much lower cost for your RS7(going by your username).

Quote from Troy when I was looking at extended warranties:

"For me to sell the Audi branded plan online (the new one through Safe-Guard), you need to be under 40,000 miles AND have at least 12 months of coverage remaining.
One big difference between the two plans is that with the new Audi plans time/mileage are starting retroactively from the original in-service date and mile 0, whereas the Fidelity plans start from the current date and miles….so if you’re comparing 6 year plans from each, you’d be getting about 3 ˝ more years of coverage with the Fidelity plan."

    My coverage:

    1. Fidelity platinum
    2. 6 year / 60k additional years/miles purchased when OEM warranty was expiring, $250 deductible, expires 2023/~90k miles.
    3. $4400 through Troy Dietrich, but this really depends on your coverage level, model type (A/S/RS), vehicle age and mileage.

I can't speak for Alpha, because my car is not nodded. However, in my experience, it doesn't necessarily matter which warranty you have. (Unless, of course, they explicitly state in your terms they won't cover modified vehicles, at all) It's going to come down to the shop & the underwriter. Is the shop going to unnecessarily volunteer info to the underwriter, like "oh by the way, he's running a stage 1 tune and has a loud exhaust, just FYI." (when it really has no effect on your issue) or will the underwriter drop by the shop to see what they're cutting a several thousand dollar check for. If the shop you're working with has done a lot of business with the warranty company, I'd say it's likely that the answer is "no" to both - but you should ask the shop. And unless it's an Audi dealer, there's not really any way for a warranty company to prove you have a tune, is there? I like the idea of buying a warranty through a shop you're going to work with and that has experience with the warranty company, if possible.

I previously had an A4 & A5. The A5 had a catback, springs, wheels and the A4 was unmodded. Both had Fidelity extended warranties and never had any issue getting anything covered. (And that A4 had like $16k worth of warranty work between a trans, pistons & turbo)

I thought I was the only one shopping around for one of these before the new year rolls in. My CPO 2013 S7 warranty just expired last week (92k miles) so got a few quotes and went with the following (to cover me from turbo and other major repairs).

    1. Autopom (Royal Centennial Plan)
    2. 4 years, 49k additional miles (whichever comes first)
    3. $3080
    4. One time (also offers 10% down, 24mo term)
    5. Read great reviews about them, and the transaction was pleasant (no high pressure sales people)
    6. nothing to add

How much was this plan? I might be interested in adding something like this.

EDIT: Never mind...just saw it cost you $2800 in your original post. Not too bad!!

Did they come and do an inspection on your car? Do you have any modds on your car?

Mine just covers the power train, turbos, and some electrical (switches, starter, alternator, etc..) No inspection,. totally over the phone. However, realized shortly after the transaction that Autopom is only a 3rd party marketer and seller of warranties offered by administrators (once they sell it, you no longer deal with them, only the administrator, in my case Royal). Autopom has an excellent BBB rating. Royal on the other hand appears to be a nightmare to.deal with according to their reviews so I would think twice about going with a Royal plan. What.I have is posted below. I'm going to conitinue to shop around since I have a 20 day grace period to get my refund..

BBB has a A rating and the dealer i bought from (NorthBay Motors) i trust and they have a great reputation. Although im a bit worried what NB will say when roll in with a lowered stage 2 car for routine maintenance .. which I believe is required if a claim is filed.

I decided to go with a Powertrain plan from Fidelity/JM&A administered by Century Warranty Services (Engine/Turbos, Transmission, Drive Axles) additional 4 years/ 48K miles. Plan was $6K total ($100 deductible) with a maximum claims payout equal to the the car's blue book value over the life of the contract (which is transferable if I sell the car). Though this plan was nearly double of what my cheapest quote was (AutoPom/Royal), the fact that my dealer has experience working with this company and no issues having claims paid, the extra $3K is worth the piece of mind of not having to part the Red Sea to get a turbo claim paid in the future in the event I hit the turbo failure jackpot during the next 4 years (which is highly likely) considering the 93k miles I already have on it. I also liked the fact that the coverage is in force at the time of purchase and no waiting period.

I'm searching for extended warranties and by reading some other forum posts, I thought my only option was going with an outside warranty company since my warranty runs out in 2 months. (Was reading that I need to have a full year left to buy an Audi branded extended warranty).

But from talking to my dealer and a few others, all of them are offering me the Audi Pure Protection? Has anyone run into this? Is it too good to be true?

Hey guys. I just got a 2012 A6 Prestige (loaded with night vision, head up display, drivers assistance, etc). Car has 77k miles and was purchased through Audi in Silver Spring. It was a 1 owner vehicle and all maintenance records show that it was all done at Audi. Should I get warranty? I know it's a really reliable engine and dealer records show it's been properly maintained. I just dont want to be stuck with something going wrong and having to shell out money to fix. Keep in mind the dealer also gave me 1 year warranty with the car (first 60 months bumper to bumper and the remainder limited warranty through Audi). Should I even consider warranty now or until this one expires? Also I heard that extended warranty companies increase their prices if the car has over 80k mileage.

Also forgot to mention the dealer is replacing brakes and rotors for me and fixing some cosmetic things as well as new wipers, replacing a hose leak (forgot which), and doing a certified inspection on the car before I take delivery since the state of Maryland requires any used car to go through a vigorous inspection before purchase. Let me know your thoughts.

I bought the car for $17500. Not sure if it's a good deal or not - you all would know more then me haha

Try AutoPom. I got a quote from them for my S6. Additional 4y/48k mi, top of the line plan that covers pretty much everything . $4081. 10% down and rest on 24mo payments. Gonna check with my dealer to see what they offer. Still have a while to go before I run out of warranty but Autopom seems to be a solid option.

    1. Audi via my local dealership (didn't use Troy but he was very helpful even though not best pricing for me)
    2. Purchased platinum warranty 30 months after initial sale date - 7 years/70k TOTAL miles from initial purchase date
    3. $3250
    4. One Time
    5. Can't say since it hasn't come into use - car just ended its factory warranty so the additional three years start now. Did get through my local dealership as they said any work done would have no deductible (versus $100 otherwise)

They offer a 24mo no interest payment schedule with 10% down.

Folks, I'm convinced that Audi promoting a 10K mile oil change interval is the primary reason for all the turbo failures. After dropping the oil after a 9K interval, it was black as tar. From here on out, I'm dropping it out in my driveway EVERY 3K miles / 3mos MAX and using the magnetic drain plugs to catch as much metal as I can. Our V8s have more metal surface area inside than the smaller engines and with that, the greater possibility of metal shavings over time vs. a smaller displacement engine because of the greater surface area. In other words, the higher the change frequency, the cleaner the engine will be and contaminate free at any given time. With that said, even a 5K change interval is pushing it IMO. That trip reset is going to get put to use!!!!

So, I have to say I am, thus far, completely satisfied and would recommend them.
man, this seems like a great deal. Where did you purchase this from? I know autopom (they're local) but don't know anything about Alpha. I did talk to Troy but the pricing was just too high for the coverage offered (over $4500 for my rs7 for not even the best plan).

I bought the car from a small independent dealership who sells Alpha warranties with their vehicles. So, got it with the purchase of the car through the dealer.

No doubt that is a rock bottom deal! Would love to know what they would quote an S7 for with similar mileage. I'm sure it would be more due to the major engine differences between the two powertrains... At the end of the day when it comes down to $10000 turbo failures (there isn't much difference between a $3000 plan and a $6000 plan figuratively speaking.

Maybe you'll have better luck then me, but when I called about an Alpha warranty, they said I had to buy it at the time I bought the vehicle, and from that selling dealer.

I then went to Autopom, requested a quote 2 different times on their website, then called 2 other times, and still no one has called or emailed me a quote. Guess they don't want to cover my RS7.

In the end I went with Audi Pure Protection.

That is weird with Autopom. I recently asked them for a quote. They had a quote in my email the next day. $4k for the best coverage they can provide for my 2016 S6 for an additional 4y/48kmi.

For those that are interested in an Alpha Warranty like I was, I just made a phone call to inquire about a quote and additional information. This my be my own negligence for not knowing how extended warranties work, or just specific to Alpha, but they DO NOT offer a warranty after it has been purchased - you have to purchase this warranty at a dealership, who also is a Alpha dealer, at the time of purchase.

$2800 for a '13 with 80k miles up to 179k miles is an amazing deal!! Especially with that type of coverage. Too bad the dealership I bought mine at didn't offer Alpha! best they had was $3800 (forget the coverage) when I bought - turned that down.

I’m skeptical about autopom. I feel like from looking at their terms that their coverage doesnt seem to be as thorough as even the second tier fidelity plan.

I was not aware of that. This was actually the very first time I've ever purchased a car from an independent dealer, as opposed to a factory dealer. I guess I was lucky that they offered this warranty brand, because it would have never crossed my mind to consider which warranty brand is being offered as a deciding factor.

Well you sir, should be proud of your decision making skills. Nice work scoring the warranty you did!
