Expected labor costs for supercharger pulley installation?

Thinking about going stage 2 single pulley and reached out to a local shop for a quote on swapping out the supercharger pulley. I was thinking it should be a fairly quick thing and expected about ~$130 or so. They quoted me for 2 hours @ $120 per hour so $240 total just for the labor. How does this stack up against what others have paid for a sc pulley swap?

I'm in a tough spot because I really want to get more power out of my car but I'm having a hard time justifying spending roughly $600 for marginal gains from sc pulley, and Dual pulley is just way out of my price range from having to also upgrade heat exchanger.

It took me about an hour. It's very easy I just loosened supercharger bolts and lifted it up just far enough to get the puller on and came right off and heated new one with torch and slid on easy. I didn't even have to take the coolant lines off, just loosened the clamps.

Toaster oven is even easier and even. Several how-to videos show the steps.

I just set the pulley on the ground and heated the front inside of the pulley and grabbed it with a visegrips and slid it on. I had a cts pulley so them fit tighter so I heated mine to 800 which was plenty hot. Prolly 600 would work if you cool the supercharger shaft with ice beforehand

I’ve seen them, but I’m in an apartment although 1st floor I’d rather not run a 100 ft extension cord.

My main goal is to demonstrate the usefulness of my torch collection to the wife

Thanks. I think most install guides say around 400F so 600 is plenty good

Yes that's good for most pulleys but some have had trouble with the cts at 400
It's very easy to prop up the supercharger, most everything can stay connected just loosen the coolant line clamps

    I got 3 quotes locally from 360 to 500 to 600.

Weighed against messing up my ACC and ruining an entire Saturday I opted for the 360 route at a local very reputable shop.

Yes, worth it. I used the unbolt the supercharger approach and it went pretty well. Have fun!

If the kitchen is not too far away from your work space, use the kitchen stove and and bake the pulley long enough to heat and expand it

400F for 35-45 minutes. Wear good and thick leather gloves

For my car (different car but same engine) and crank pulley, I paid 3 * 125 = 375 for labor.
