Conncting via cable allows you to navigate through artists, folders etc. On BT Audio you can only skip to next/previous track in the current playlist.
Sound quality is the same for me (iPhone and B&O)

Sound quality for me is the same, too. B/T also takes longer to start up after the car is turned on, but I still prefer the convenience of not even taking my phone out of my pocket for my music to start.

Sound quality on Bluetooth is very close to the same, much better than the Hyundai I used to have. I have only connected my old iPod via MMI cable, not my phone. Nice thing is I can leave it hidden in my glovebox and control it through the MMI.

Like HazeMyth said, had to beat not having to take your phone out of your pocket or bag to get essentially the same quality.

XM sound quality on the other hand...

Mimi cable has much better bass
Not sure if you will notice this with OEM sub
I have an after market one and it's certainly better with Mimi
    Also
Bluetooth uses a compressed format for streaming audio from phone to stereo
Cable isn't compressed, so it's higher quality using cable
