    Audi Side Assist: System Fault

Long story short, I was driving home one night on the highway in a slight drizzle (if that makes a difference) and out of nowhere I get the “Side View Assist: System Fault” message on my dashboard. Both lights inside the mirrors are non functioning and pushing the button on the a-pillar simply brings up the fault message again.

I’m not sure what could have caused this. I do not think the sensors are blocked since I would have gotten a different warning if that was the case. I did get rear ended over the summer and has to have the bumper and sensors replaced/recalibrated but it’s been fine for the 7 months before this so I’m not sure it’s a problem with the body shop’s work.

Does anyone have an idea as to what this may be? I really don’t want to take it to the dealer to tell me it’s gonna cost 600+ for new sensors and calibration.

Could be something completely different but I had this same problem, with a bunch of other issues all on the drivers side, after looking around a bunch I found someone saying to check the harness inside both the front doors that goes from the door into the body. Just make sure they are completely connected and when I looked at the drivers door harness visually it looked connected but when I grabbed it I could feel that it was loose. I pulled it off and then reattached it, cleared the codes and haven't had anymore problems since.
