plastic valve covers questions

Can you see from a picture of an engine with valve covers installed if they are alloy or the upgraded plastic ones?
Or are they exactly the same?


Also are all b7 s4 valve covers plastic and do they fit b6 s4 without mods?

Plastic on my b6. Only difference is the pcv pipes are shaped differently and center bolt is same length.

I have metal covers on my B6. I think it varies by build date. I believe 04s had metal and 05s+ had plastic.

My B7 (2006 Canadian car)came with the magnesium valve covers. I have a set of plastic ones I’ll be installing soon.

You can also see that around the bolt holes is different on the plastic ones.
