    Remote Lock/Unlock Feature Without Audi Connect on C7?

    Hello Friends, I bought my first Audi from a dealership in Dallas, TX. Its a 2018 A6 3.0 (C7) with Premium Plus trimline. I was hoping it will have the remote lock/unlock, geofencing and other remote functions as a standard. To my surprise, it did not come with all of them. I have tried to follow all the setup steps for Audi Connect to register as the key user in the car and the app. However, haven't been able to complete it since the car did not come with the 10 digit scratch code. Due to this I am unable to use myCarmanager functions though other features - myInfo, myRoute, etc. are enabled.

    I spoke to the dealership and after a lot of back and forth, they told me today that the they spoke to Audi at a dealership hotline and confirmed that this feature is not available on 2018 A6/A7/A8 and some other models. Additionally, I was told that Audi is working to release this feature for all models without the need of using Audi Connect. I am told the feature is "coming soon" though they don't have a date and that once available myAudi app will notify me of the update.

    Can someone confirm if this is true? If it is true, do we know a date by when it will be available?

    Thank you for reaching out and congratulations on your acquisition of your brand new A6, I hope that you are enjoying all of the capabilities and driving characteristics of your A6 so far. The Audi Connect Key User functionality (lock/unlock using smartphone, etc.) was introduced on the 2017 Audi Q7 and has been added to subsequent models since that point (A4 line, A5 line, Q5 line) but is currently only available on the redesigned 2019 A6. As of right now we do not have any information the Key User technology becoming available on other models. The functionality is included in the hardware of the vehicle, so it is rather difficult to perform this upgrade without the use of the factory at our disposal. If I become aware of any updates surrounding a solution to increase functionality, I will be sure to let everyone know. Please let me know if you have any additional questions on this information.

    Does that mean that the key user functionality is also not available on a 2018 TT RS. If that is the case what functionality does the myAudi app provide for a 2018 TT RS?

    Hello Jeff,

    The 2017-2018 TT line (TT/TTS/TTRS) is included with the MIB II system which does not include this type of functionality. The myAudi app does still have quite a bit of functionality such as destinations and other features. If you have specific questions on the app please let me know.
