ACC retrofit

Hi,
Is possible to retrofit ACC or distance regulation with radars only? I have cruise control, but I haven't camera on windscreen. Is possible to retrofit it without that camera? Thank you.

Short answer: No.
Camera in windshield is a part of the ACC system on 4G.

How hard is this if you DO have the front camera? Pulling the trigger on an S6 soon but it doesn’t have ACC.

2 words for you. Cost Prohibitive...
There are radars in the front grilles if you don't have those, they run $2500ea and that's the tip of the iceberg, control units etc etc.

I personally hate the ACC and auto breaking feature. I’ve almost gotten into more accidents because of them than anything else. Doing 75 in the highway and all of a sudden it just mashes the breaks with no warning and no one in front of me. Turned both features off.

Sounds like your system is not calibrated correctly. I've had mine brake for me, but it's usually because some jerk cuts me off, or I forgot to shorten the distance. It shouldn't just brake like that--if you're under warranty still, I'd take it in and see if they can replicate it. Or if you have dashcam footage, show them that.

I'm sure it's not for everyone. I collected all my parts and just missing windshield. You will need below parts to get ACC to work:

-ACC radars left/right with brackets and new grills
-ABS pump with ACC support
-Instrument cluster with ACC support
-New cruise control lever and stock with ACC support
-ACC module
-Camera in Windshield
-Windshield that has mount for camera, if ur doing HUD at the same time make sure you get windshield with HUD film on
-Wiring harness for Camera to module
-Wiring harness from module to ACC radars
-Coding, component protection removal from module
-Last is calibration at Audi dealer

Again this is not for everyone, but it's duable and has been done already.

Yes you can retrofit the ACC to the C7, KUFATEC sells a kit, it's about 4800. EURO = 5428.00 today ;-) And a shit load of labor. I retrofitted the "advance key" and the kit was 800.00 and the labor at my Audi dealer made my nose bleed!
