2019 A3/S3 on Audi USA website

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Last I checked, there were several spy shots showing a newer model although no announcement. Just went to the Audi USA website and I now see the 2019 A3/S3 listed as the same facelift model from 2017/18. Guess it's safe to say the newer model will be released for 2020 or was this known info? Either way, there seems to be a few changes to the packages this year:

    1. Standard 19" wheels have changed. I know I've seen these before but not sure what model?
    2. Black Optics wheels are now the new S4 rotors
    3. Option for carbon fiber interior trim

Not sure if there are any mechanical differences, although I did notice the HP dropped from 292 -> 288 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Feel free to discuss or tell me this is old news!

For the RS3 I see the horse power dropped from 400 to 394. I wonder if this has to do with emissions constraints?

    Wireless charging is new.

Eck those new 19s are ugly (not the black optic wheels) still like the older ones.

I always knew the next gen A3 is going to be a year after whatever you see from Europe, it's always that way.

The 2.0T their calling TFSI 45 got a 8 HP boost for the 2019 A3.

It now has 228 HP as oppose to the 220 HP it's been falling behind on. I think they should have given it more HP, but 8+ is better than nothing.

and do I also see "Park Steering Assist". Is that the long awaited Park Assist they withheld from the North American A3/S3 sedans since it's inception?

My understanding is that the HP changes are simple new unified reporting rules rather than an actual change to specification....

What’s strange though is the A3 increased, when the S3 and A4 decreased.

I don't see the option available for a Sports Package for 2019... do ya'll think it's a typo or did they discontinue the option?

While I dislike the standard 19" wheels, I love the new rotor style.

Also, I'm surprised to see there's no more Vegas Yellow? Maybe it just wasn't a popular enough color but I did just purchase one

The S Sport package with mag ride? Looks like it exists but doesn't add the 19" wheels, meaning you can have mag ride with the standard 18" (is this the first year that's doable?)

Edit: Oops, I think you're talking about the sport package on the A3. Yeah I don't see it in the configurator and that seems odd.

Yeah, I was referring to the A3 Sports package with the nicer seats and Drive Select. It looks like the Premium Plus might get Drive Select automatically...

This part of their website shows the FWD/Quattro should both get a 7 speed DSG?
