    2017 TTRS 8S AWD/TC/ESP Coding ?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi guys,

wanted to do some changes for the ESP/TC for my TTRS but cannot find the options, neither on VCP nor on VCDS and OBDEleven?!

Have you got an idea, why RS3 8VA can alter these values and TTRS 8S cars cannot do it? Read that Iroz was altering the „vibration“ and AWD values on the car.

    Can anyone help, maybe Hank?

I think Hank adjusted the haldex settings on the RS3

Well, thats what I meant. He altered it on the RS3 8VA and actually all RS3 8VA got options to alter it. But the TTRS 8S seems not to have these options?!

I'd love to know what settings he adjusted and what effect it had but I imagine all of that is tribal knowledge under NDA.

I’m surprised there are not more options to modify the Haldex on our cars.

I've been doing some research..... the new Gen5 haldex systems still have some issues. All software adjustments work but the system won't maintain the higher pump speeds. The pump slows down after 90 seconds so for now its only used in drag race cars. Most of my autox runs are less than 90 seconds so it might be ok for that. I'm not sure what initiates the higher pump speeds. If launch control was the primary start sequence it would likely be perfect.

Well, these were the adjustments he posted for the RS3.

But as I said, I can find these options on my sisters RS3 but neither OBD11, nor VCDS/VCP show me these for the TTRS -.-

The settings he changed to in the RS3 are the stock setting in the TTRS

^ How can we be sure of this if we cannot seem to find the values via VCDS?

That is my conversation above somebody posted. He told me since I have a TTRS there is nothing to code as those are the TTRS values.

Well, I cannot drift the car on snow surface anymore with a stage 2 upgrade, hence the ESP seems not be be able to be switched off anymore. Stock this was possible. Hence I do not think that the modified TC/ESP of the RS3 is what the TTRS got stock! There should also be a way to modify it?! Maybe that is also a reason, why the TTRS are thus far not any quicker than the RS3s on the drag strips ...

What happens when you attempt to drift? Does the ESP kick in and kill power, lock brakes or does it behave like a FWD?

The ESP reduces the power. It is basically as if I would have ESP still on, similar to ESP Sport mode.

That sucks. It would be interesting to see what changes are made behind the scenes between the different modes.... ESC ON, ESC SPORT, ESC OFF. I would love to have a mode that allowed for sliding but still made an attempt to mitigate differences in left to right wheel speed. I know using brakes to distribute torque is hard on the brakes but I don't really care I'd rather have the performance than the penalty especially if it was a select-able race mode such as ESC RACE.

The only one I was able to do was the Acoustic Measure Wiring Logic - Increased Traction.

The ABS Starting Vibration module isn't available on mine, but the EDL/XDS is, but the adapation security passcode provided by VCDS doesn't allow you to change it.

Also, I was able to code my steering wheel to always be in Dynamic regardless of mode

    thanks that worked!

But our options are Small, Middle, Or Big Threshold. the defult is middle, so I tried out Big. I'm assuming it's similar to "strong" as the post above.

Update, these changes make grip on the streets enjoyable!

I can feel more of the rear-end being an active player, especially in the wet where it would just push before.

So what all have you actually changed? What codes did you have to use to make the changes.

    Screen shot in post #7:

In the AWD module: Acoustic Measure Wiring Logic - Increased Traction.
In the ABS module: Expanded Electronic Differential Lock - Big Threshold. (still 50/50 if this change did anything, I changed this setting after what I posted above).
