Looking at one that is really interesting, cabriolet, and had a ppi done. They said everything was good except there were some sporadic faults saved to the computer (basically they just listed all the faults the car had ever showed). Most were innocuous like tire pressure but others were not:
16987 (P00B700) engine coolant flow low/performance sporadic
15059 (P008700) Fuel Rail/System Pressure too Low Sporadic
16450 (P052A00) Cold Start 'A' Camshaft Position Timing over Advanced Sporadic
15281 (P045600) EVAP Emission Control System (very small Leak) Leak Detected Sporadic
These faults stood out because they seemed to be not normal faults. They all happened under warranty so I'd assume they were corrected, however the engine coolant flow low has happened a total of 4 times over the life of the car according to the inspection. Should I be worried? The technician said they were sporadic faults which means a sensor could have been triggered randomly and then it immediately went away. The technician who inspected the vehicle said it wouldn't be an issue they'd not purchase the car over but I just want to be sure I know what to expect.
Also they said that due to the car sitting for some time to be sold there was some rust on the rotors, I figured that wasn't a big deal and would just come off with regular driving, however they mentioned that the rust buildup was significant and that the rotors would need to be replaced eventually due to this. It has been on the dealership lot for about 8 months now.
