Exclamation Who has replaced their brake pads?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey everyone,

I'm creeping up on about 15k miles on my 2018 TT RS and beginning to hear some brake squeal. Not sure if it's the pads or something else, but it got me curious.... Who here has changed their brake pads on their TT RS or RS 3 sedan?

If you have, can you help with the following info? For reference, I have the STANDARD brakes - not the carbon ceramic brakes part of the dynamic plus package.

    - Do you have standard or ceramic brakes?
    - What mileage did you change them at?
    - What pads did you use? If you have a link, please include it.
    - How much did it cost to install?
    - Did you change / refinish the rotors?

    Thanks everyone!

I just got done replacing my fronts at about 10k miles, but only cause I put it through a few hard track days.

Since I was also putting in new Girodisc rotors, I just went with Girodisc pads. Pretty inexpensive, $250 for the fronts

I have 20k on the car and when they did the service the pads still had 5 mm left on them (they start out at 11 mm). The list price on OEM front pads (8 pads) is $600 though they can be had for $460. Close up photos reveal that they are made by Brembo. Like you, I have iron rotors.

How do you like them? At $250, that's a pretty solid price compared to the OEM at ~$500... Are worse or less superior in any way?

Super helpful. Did you also do a brake oil flush?

I do not believe so as I do not think that a flush is part of a 20K service.

Any experiences with them on the track? I also have the girodiscs but ran OEM pads for my track day. Looking to upgrade the pads and 250 is solid.

No chance to use them on track yet.
