Aftermarket wheels suggestion for my New Q7 50 TDI

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello there fellow Audi owners.

I just picked up my Brand New 2019 Q7 50 TDI (S- Line) yesterday and I am seeking for a 22 inch After Market wheels recommendation.

I wanted to go 10J on the width but not sure if it fits without any issue. If it does, can you share which wheel offset did you go for? and how did you overcome the issues if any occured. Thanks in advance.

Below are the pictures of my Car.

Q7 50 TDI, 286 PS (8 Gear Tiptronic Quatro Euro 6d Temp Engine), 7 Seats, S-Line Sports Package (int and ext), Premium Package, Infotainment Package, Light Package, Black Decals, Audi 20 inch black alloy, Adaptive Air Suspension, Heated Seats (front and back), Bose Premium Sound System etc etc.

    Thanks in advance.

    Congrats! Beautiful spec.

Vorsteiner and BBS have 22x10.5” solutions that a few Q7 4M here run. You can use 285-305 width tires for them.

Another option is to go with a custom forged wheel like BC Forged and can do 22x10”.

Depends on style you’d like. Are there any design you prefer? I can then provide options.

    Thanks a bunch.

Would 10.5J even fit? I am scared 10J would rub let alone 10.5J.

I really have no design Idea. As long as its black and looks good on the car, I am open for a recommendation.

Do you know which wheel offset would work best for 10J and 10.5J?

I currently run 21x10" ET20 with 295/40R21 and feel like that offset is spot on. Can run more aggressive with narrower tires but think 10" ET20 give flush look. So a 10.5" ET26 would provide similar look.

Yes, 10.5" widths fit. There are a few people that run them.

BBS SV in 22x10.5" are ET25. This how the look on a Q7 4M. Customer is using a 285/35R22 tire size.

Vorsteiner VFF 107 are 22x10.5" ET35 and in these pics, tire size is 295/35R22.

Neither of these are made in black but they both can be painted for additional cost.

I currently run BC Forged. They are custom forged wheels a very reasonable price point available in many styles and colors. Take a look at their site and see if something looks of interest.

Pricing for the three options above list at, not including shipping:

    BBS - $3120
    Vorsteiner - $2900
    BC Forged - Mono $3600 - $4400

Thank you so much. Those wheel examples are soo nice. Just to make sure.. those measurements do not require a spacer, right? or do they?

Do you know if this Q is on air?
Last thing I want to do is go to an aftermarket wheel and then have a huge wheel gap. Not looking at Q7s with air suspension and not interested in springs.

I'd also want to go with a 305/35/22 which would fill the gap a bit more.

That Q7 is on air. I am not sure at what height he is set at for that pic. I know no module or lowering from factory settings had been done at that time.

If you aren't looking at ones with air or not interested in springs, then there will definitely be a gap.

Prior to the H&R, this is the gap I had with 295/40R21. The gap with 325/35R22 would only be 1.5mm less.

Thanks ..Ill hold onto this info until the refresh arrives.
Decided to pass on the SQ5 and now the 19' Q7 and wait for the 20'.
All this waiting is killing me.

Another example: 22” 10.5, offset 30 Vossens fit well, no spacers. 285/35/22 tires pictured here. IMG_0291.JPG

I'm guessing your on springs and not air?
That's the wheel gap im looking to avoid and may add air suspension to my order to do it.

Yes. Springs. Air would be great. But you can also get lowering springs which I will be doing this summer that lowers that wheel gap and improves the look. H&R.

Yeah I've done springs only in the past and ride quality is never as good as OEM.
The 305s would fill the gap more but im still not sure it'll be enough for me.
Air suspension will look good in dynamic but is it worth the extra initial cost and inevitably more servicing and higher failure rate?

Aftermarket wheels suggestion for my New Q7 50 TDI

We had air suspension on a Mercedes GL450, and while we loved it, that was the huge downside. Had to repair a couple times at extremely high cost. Can’t speak for what that cost would be for an Audi, or the reliability. Maybe better in both cases. Nice thing about the air suspension is that it provides flexibility to have a lower or a higher ride pending on your choice. Will say this though-the wheel gap really bothered me at first, and now I’m not half as much bothered by it. But the Q7 definitely needs minimum 21” rims and looks great with 22” IMO.

    Hello All,

I’ve been researching the heck out of this topic, and just as I got comfortable with going 22x10.5 et25-30 285/35R22, my local contact says that I will likely run into rubbing issues with this set up. I’m not sure if he’s talking top or back of the wheel rubbing fender well, it seems like everyone is running this size.

At Nemesis, have you guys received complaints with this setup? I’m on regular suspension too.

    Thanks!

Hey guys, ended up going with 22x10.5 et25. No rubbing no problems- as mentioned previously. Now just trying to decide on whether to lower it. I kinda don’t mind the gap

Awesome! I’m happy with them so far. I don’t think the shop had to use anything additional to mount them. Are you referring to spacers for the springs or wheel?

Any rubbing with the 22x10.5's? What about with lowering springs?

It's such a bummer to me that the options are so limited for this platform. I recently picked up a 2015 Q7 (air suspension) with the stock 21" peelers. Without anything on the market that looks better, I might end up having to get them painted at this point. The only thing that has remotely been interesting to me is the BBS SV with the silver spokes, but I'm not sure the design beats the peelers at this point.

I'll just throw it out there that the US consumers don't have access to most of the OZ portfolio from Italy because we have a GARBAGE exclusive importer... you should be able to get your hands on Superturismo Dakar HLT in 20/21 and a few widths.

I've been trying for a while to figure out how to get my hands on some, but the selection is super limited through US channels. No, I'm not even gonna use their name.

Bump - anyone have updates on a 22x10.5 setup?

    Just got a 2018 on stock suspension and have the V-ff 107 22x10.5 ET25's on pre-order.

I'm not sure what tires to get, but was thinking 305/35/22's (if there won't be any rubbing issues), and then I'm trying to decide on lowering springs or coilovers.

We go hiking at least once or twice a month, and plan on being in the Colorado mountains next winter. I want to make sure that lowering it an inch or so to close the wheel gap won't cause any issues, but was thinking during the winter I can just raise it back up an inch.

Anyone able to provide some guidance? Thanks!
