Give me that "Surgical precision" of the Audi RS3. I just gotta have it. And the AWD is needed for where I am located during the winter .

If you use your car as a DD in a location where you actually have a winter, these AWD vs RWD videos are pointless IMO. Especially when your consider any performance comparison throughout the year like all 12 months. Oh and i haven't even seen the video. Up here you'll be parking your RWD car for months, and if you do drive the RWD's during winter months you will surely have a bottle of grey Poupon in the glove box as you'll be driving miss daisy.

Yeah exactly I didn’t even consider any other competitor. I bought an RS3 to have a performance daily all year round. No other car comes close to it in this regard. And I put 2 car seats in the back. So it’s my family car, commuter, weekend car all in one.

^^ Amen brother!! ^^ Same thing here, I love my DSG transmission, my wife loves the car, we fit the kids, it has AWD, it is fast, the gas mileage is decent too.

For me it was the rain not the snow. Rwd in the rain scares me so i chose the RS3 plus that stock exhaust note is orgasmic lol.

The one guy had already made up his mind about the M2 being the best. Then he spent the whole video trying to talk the other guy into it.

Yup one car seat for me.....two in a lil bit. No thought at all on the choice for this car, plus is my daughter loves the exhaust sound and gets mad when its on comfort setting lol.

Yea you're right about that. The M2 is definitely a hell of a car, yet it's like when he got into the RS3, you can almost feel that he already had some pre-made judgments on the car. And had to admit how good it is once he drove it. There's nothing wrong with having a favorite brand or favorite car but one should be open-minded about these type of things especially when you're reviewing cars in videos. Good overall comparison video though.

M2 is a beast and could be made moar fast easy.
But, the 2.5L, AWD and DQ500 are all I care about.
Maintenance on a BMW, no less M2 must be a nightmare.

I don't generally like Throttle House videos, this one wasn't much different.

I bought the RS3 because it can serve dual purposes. It can be the 365 day DD and you can race it. In three months of ownership it has been drag racing, road racing and autocrossing. The only difference between racing and track setups are the child seats in the back.

The M2 and Camaro are toy cars that are useless 6 months of the year in Canada. I own a 550 hp Mustang and it just sits under a cover 90% of the time now that I have 2 kids.

I recently went through the comparison process prior to buying and it was a tough decision. I was looking between the M2, M2C, M240, and the RS3. I drove all 3 BMW's back to back which was a treat, but ultimately settled on the RS3. As a caveat, this is our only car and live in Toronto with its' wonderful traffic, city roads, and the wife refused a manual.

The M240i (had xdrive) was plenty quick and if your just looking to play around from time to time is great. Downside, just not engaging. The brakes were okay for the power, but nothing spectacular. The drama just wasn't there (even with the m exhaust) and most glaring was the dead steering.

2018 M2 LCI: gorgeous car in lbb. Easily the best looking out of all the cars. The engine and exhaust note on the n55 M2 is just so so good. Steering felt nice, brakes felt good, and the dct had a nice engaging feel through the gears. Downside, the DCT does feel a little clunky down low in comfort. The fixed suspension is both a positive and negative. If I lived somewhere with nice roads it really is great, however Toronto is not that place.

2019 M2C: looked nice in HS. It is a good next iteration to the M2. The s55 is buttery smooth in power delivery. The brakes are immense. Better looking interior. Overall the car does a better job doing a jekyll and Hyde than the M2. It also would be the more composed car on the track. Downside, same fixed suspension and I didn't care for the comfort of the new seats. The symphony of sound in the old M2 is gone. The m2c doesn't sound bad, but sure as heck not as good as the older M2. It's an improvement, but I do feel like they lost something.

RS3: Good looking car, but do think the M2 models look better. The I5 is just such a treat and the noises it generates are so good. Obviously it is fast as hell, but the other 3 cars aren't slouches either. The mag ride suspension really lets you adjust the car to how you want it to behave. It is fairly cushy and sedate on comfort and nicely damped and angry on dynamic. The interior is great looking and just better than what BMW offers on any of their 2 series. The tech is as good as your going to find in a car in this price range. The transmission is great in any setting. Downside, throttle response could be better. The manual seats, while very comfy, are a pain in the ass and not something you should have to deal with in a car setup (it's not a race car...) in this manner for this price tag. It does have 4 doors, which is super convenient.

Overall, after looking at every car review one can find for months and driving them all the RS3 won for me and I put in an order for a 2019.

If the sole factor for a fun car is a manual and rwd you shouldn't even be looking at the RS3, which seems to be a popular outlook in a lot of car journalists.

If I were looking for a purely fun car out of the 3 cars reviewd I'd probably take the Camaro for shenanigans. If I wanted a proper sports car in this price range get a Porsche and head to road tracks.

Exactly. And to point out everyone talking about RWD vs. AWD...they shot the video in Canada. lmao Didn't even bring up that specific comparison and it should be quite the priority there.

Yah i know where they shot the vid, screen shot is ONT plates and Throttle House is made in Canada already knew that info. Hence why i think its a pointless comparison in the first place. Compare other AWD cars up here in Canada or other locations of winter climates for DD's or don't do it at all.

The one guys BMW bias seems to let him completely overlook the fact he lives in Toronto where the roads are not great and the weather is wet snow/slush **** 4-5 months of the year.

I totally understand the M2C and Camaro as fun/summer/track cars but as a DD in Toronto? C'mon....

Had a tuned 135i and a tuned m235xi. The M2 uses the same old N55 engine as the m235 and has next to no more upside beyond the stock power it comes with. It looks better on the outside vs the RS3, the inside is a decade old, I'm sure it's a great car for the track, but I much prefered my AWD 235 over my more powerful rwd 135 even with the lsd I put in the 135. Any daily driver in the Midwest with much over 350 hp is fairly useless most of the year. Pretty sure the M2 would make the best and most fun track car, but also the slowest and most troublesome to amateur drivers on public streets.

Several weeks ago I was about to trade my RS3 in since it went through a hailstorm earlier this year and while it was all fixed, I still didn't like the feeling that it was "tainted". So I went on a test driving binge:
Test drove the new Camaro ZL1. Having been a previous 6th gen camaro SS owner, it was a no brainier to try this one out. The ZL1 was hilariously fast and fun! However, I couldn't justify the poor gas mileage and not being able to fully put the power down more than half of the year. Keep in mind I live in Dallas.

Then drove the BMW M4. The handling was good, but not as tight as the Zl1. It wanted to be a $80K car, but just felt it was trying a bit too hard and never could make it. Then I jumped back into my RS3 and felt like I had a happy median amongst all the cars I test drove. Keep in mind my car is modded (Stage 1+), but it is nice being able to actually feel and hear the difference between comfort and dynamic mode.

At the end, I was glad I test drove the other cars for couple of weeks, as I had a new profound appreciation for the RS3 and ultimately decided to keep it. The next day I went on a modding binge!!!

    To sum it up:
ZL1 felt like an all out street brawler who can also kick ass in the pro boxing ring
M2 felt like a street fighter with a tuxedo and felt uncomfortable boxing in the pro boxing ring
RS3 felt like a professional boxer who just stepped up from Amateur boxing

Was this the ZL1 1LE or just the regular zl1? I ask because I had a 2016 2SS and the 2017 1SS 1LE and the 1LE's handling was insanely better. Without having driven it, I would think that maybe the ZL1 1LE would be better for you.

Regular ZL1 but 2016 Camaro SS that I had had tons of suspension mods. No doubt it handles better and fun but overall package of the RS3 felt better. I already did some inserts on the RS3 and have bigger sway bar and lowering springs ready to go.

Yea cause I really feel like my 1LE (stock suspension) handles way better than my rs3 (stock suspension also). I havent tossed the rs3 around too hard, but just going around the local area in a spirited fashion, the 1LE makes me feel much more confident that I could push the car way harder.

Yeah, ZL1 is basically your car, supercharged with the awesome A10 tranny! Man that thing is lightening quick~! I still liked the ZL1. Let me put it this way: if the ZL1 had AWD, I would spend an extra $10,000-$15,000 and trade in my RS3 yesterday. I like hard acceleration and sharp handling, and it's difficult trying to find a car with that combo that you gives you full driver's engagement. The only car I've ever owned and know of for that matter, that came close is the EVO IX. Unfortunately, non-modded EVO IX's don't exist anymore.

LOL, I also had an EVO IX. I bought one new back in 06, and sold it a few years later for barely less than I paid for it. Mine was bone stock, too. That was a very fun all around car!
