P2070 Intake Manifold Tuning Valve (Bank 1)

    Hi all,

I recently purchased a 2009 A5 3.2L Quattro S-Line. I got the car for cheap and couldn't pass a good deal but it did come with a check engine light on. The check engine light was related to 3 codes stores. I already fixed one and wanted to share with everyone what fixed the code P2070 in case someone runs into the same problem in the future. The is the VCDS reading related to the code that fixed so far:

6569 - Intake Manifold Tuning Valve (Bank 1)
    P2070 00 [047] - Stuck Open
Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear
    Freeze Frame:
    Fault Status: 00000001
    Fault Priority: 2
    Fault Frequency: 12
    Mileage: 253509 km
    Date: 2018.10.04
    Time: 12:03:04

    Engine speed: 1006.00 /min
    Normed load value: 24.7 %
    Vehicle speed: 12 km/h
    Coolant temperature: 96 °C
    Intake air temperature: 33 °C
    Ambient air pressure: 990 mbar
    Voltage terminal 30: 13.710 V
    Unlearning counter according OBD: 40
    Engine speed: actual: 1216 /min
    MAF_ENVD: 245.11764 mg/stroke
    Coolant temperature (unfiltered): 23.3 °C
    Engine: operating status: IS
    MAP_ENVD: 376.7715 hPa
    Vehicle speed: actual: 0 km/h

The solution to this was part number 037906283C (Vacuum Control Valve). Very easy to replace. It took some time to diagnose the problem with a friend of mine. We made sure that the actuator does actually move the intake flaps and wasn't the issue. Then, we make sure that the electrical connection was good and finally determined that the valve that sends signal to the controller is not functioning. Upon replacement of 037906283C, the code never came back. I bought the part from FCP Euro (Pierburg brand) same as what was in the car originally.

Now there are 2 remaining codes that I will post below. If anyone had experience with these and can share what fixed the problem, please let me know. I have some ideas where to start but never had experience working on this engine so I don't know. I search the forums and the internet but couldn't find much related to the first code that I fixed so I decided to share my solution. Also, for the following two codes I found out that it is recommended to clean the throttle body which I am going to do soon. Here are the unresolved codes that I have:

    6322 - Air Intake System
    P307A 00 [047] - Flow too Low
Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear

I thought I should update this thread and share my solution for codes 6307 and 6322 mentioned above in case someone has the same problem in the future and finds this thread. The solution was simply removing and cleaning the throttle body only. I did not have to take off the manifold. I cleaned the throttle body very well with throttle body cleaner, cleared the codes and no check engine light for the past month or so. Cheap and easy solution.
    Thanks for everyone's help!!!

Can you please confirm if the part shown in the picture is the exact part you used on your A5 3.2L?

I have the same issues with my 2008 A5 3.2 fsi. Where is the 037906283C Vacuum Control Valve located in the engine/intake manifold? Many thanks
