How to fix? Broken water line for windshield washer

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I noticed the windshield washer pressure was weak and discovered the black plastic water line located at the corner of hood (driver's side corner) going through and connecting the washer nozzles, is broken/cracked.

I have attached a pic below. As far as I can tell, this is the only crack on the black plastic line.

    Is this an easy replacement?

If I send it to the shop, what's the estimated cost to repair the water line ?

    Thanks for any advice.

Mine did the same I replaced it all with silicon tubing, just need to remove the left wheel well splash guard for access. Connect new hose to old and gently pull it up to the bonnet hinge then connect it up.
Harder to explain than to do.

    what he said.
replace the whole line from the pump to the jets.
you will be snaking some line by attaching the silicone line to the oem using aquarium couplings and electrical tape. think the ID of the hose is 4-6 mm. just measure the oem hose and get sone cheap silicone hose on ebay.

there is a section from the hinge area through the fender. i hade better luck pulling it from back to front...having it come out under the wheel well.

    I did this to mine.
Cut the line completely, join with a vacuum line connector and cover with heat shrink tubing. Use the smallest diameter you can fit over the line. Make sure to remove the tabs in the middle of the connector

Mine is broken in the same place. What I did was get a vacuum line that is slightly bigger than the plastic line. Cut a 2" section out of the plastic line where the break is, usually where it bends and epoxy a 2" section of the vacuum line in place at both ends. Hasn't leaked yet. You have to be careful not to make the new section too long otherwise it kinks when the hood is shut and the pipe will burst somewhere else.

The plastic pipe is garbage, best to replace the lot.

Mine snapped there years ago. I cannot fully remember, but believe I went to Home Depot and grabbed some heavy tubing meant for water and a ribbed fitting like a vacuum line connector and patched it all up. Either that or I didn't use the fitting and just used the tubing. I honestly think mine broke years before that as I had weak windshield washer jets forever. I only noticed the break when it was very noticeable. It's been perfect ever since. No issues whatsoever. Now my windshield washer pump did fail 5-6 years ago and that was a simple fix. I just installed a new one.
