Any synthetic in the proper recommended weight is fine. Get a good filter.

I use both Liqui Moly and Motul. Haven't noticed any difference between them. Both are great.

This. Both are great, and not terribly expensive.

Motul can be had for $43 on Amazon (used to be $38!).
Liqui Moly is like $36 on ECS which is great value!

Much as I like the liqui-moly...I use whatever full synthetic pops up for sale on amazon or at the local parts store. Last oil change I did a few days ago, it got 5 quarts of castrol edge 0w40 euro spec which I got on sale for 19.50 on amazon, and a MANN filter.

As long as it meets 502.00 spec you're fine.

I've run Mobil1, Redline, Amsoil, Liqui Moly, Motul, Ravenol without issue. Tend to stay away from Royal Purple.

Been using Ravenol VMO from Blauparts for a few years in our VW's and now for the Audi

It is a little expensive but it seems to have less burn off than the Mobil 1 and Castrol VW spec oils I used previously.

    I've used Mobil1 0-40 forever on my MB's...
After some research, it seems the Liqui moly 5-40 has a lower NOAK %, which should help with the oil boiling off from the turbo. Amazon has the LM 5-40 for only $12/more per 5L bottle than M1 0-40 at Walmart, so I think its probably worth it. I plan to stick with 5k intervals. My MB's being NA with a 7.5qt oil pan can run 10k without an issue....I certainly won't be following that on a 4-cylinder turbo with a 5qt oil pan and 5k intervals sounds like the best protection for longevity.

mann is good, wix, purolator boss filters are among my favorites. Bosch also makes some good filters. Generally speaking you will be ok with anything that isnt FRAM. Stay the f away from FRAM filters.

I buy Liquid Moly via Amazon Subscribe and Save. I get two delivered every six months for $41.03 each with free shipping. Mann filters all day long. You can find better prices online for the Liquid Moly. I was surprised to find it on ebay for a lot less so shop around.

After checking prices on ebay I decided to cancel my Subscribe and Save with Amazon. I can get it cheaper with free shipping and no sales tax through ebay. I've already got quite a stockpile of Liquid Moly anyway so I won't be needing any more for quite some time.

Not sure why some are over $500 for 10L but the best deal I found was 10L for 85 on eBay.

Yeah anybody who comes in with the ' hands down the best " or "end of story" you can pretty well discount them as a BS opinion.
There are a lot of great quality products on the market ( don't forget hengst which I believe are the OE supplier ) . I have used the Mahle oil filters in my Porsches for years and are a great product also so now I get them for my Audis. So now you have a great selection of filters to choose from and at least half a dozen oils that will do a great job. The rest is personal allegiance. So given this info try and swing a good deal from a supplier and know you are treating your car well.

I love the green liqui moly new generation oil, 5w40. I've run it in my mk6 jetta I had, and now I run it in my b6 a4 1.8tqm. I go 5k on oil changes and it stays pretty clean and it quiets the engine a bit compared to the normal oils like Mobil 1 and such. And yes I agree i use Mann filters, they are great

I've been using Pennzoil Platnium Euro 5w/40 with a factory filter. I've expereienced zero oil consumption issues it's available locally and my Blackstone results show it's a great oil. I also just switched to Liqui Molly 10w/60 on my other ride with no complaints and will run a UOA to verify all is well. Eitherway you'll be fine with one of the major brands as long as it meets the 502 certification.

Castrol 0W-40 Euro-spec is fairly inexpensive and easy to find.
