    RS3 Rev Limiter at 3K in P or N

Hey guys. So i noticed that my RS3 in park or neutral will not rev over 3k rpm. It is the 2018 model made in august. Currently has 800mi (~1300km). I know the car can rev higher because the demo car at the dealer ship can do 4k, which allows it to make really nice pops. Why is mine limited to 3k instead of 4k

I guess I just wonder why you would want to be reving over 3K in neutral or park?

The RS3 does have a rev limiter when it is cold. Mine shows around 5k off the top of my head when cold, perhaps when revving and not at temp it is a different rev limiter but I doubt it. That being said, i think when i get home after a drive I have revved mine past 3k rpm in neutral. I will have to test this next I driver her.

Yup I noticed the redline is at lower rpm when car is cold. But after a long drive (oil temp over 90 celcius), I still cant rev over 3k...not sure if this has anything to do with the model year being early 2018 and late 2018. (The late 2018 model has minor differences, like unretractable center screen when driving due to new regulations in NA)

Great question JACYCRS. My car does the same thing (wouldn't rev pass 3k). I am with you brother, I also want to rev my car just to hear the engine/exhaust.
