So happy with this A7 build...

I call it my A7 plus.

Bought this thing in 2012, and at 39k and a ton of MODS, it's damn near perfect in every way. I arrived at this point of ownership last Saturday on I35 E between St. Paul and the southern burbs. There was this beautiful AMG E63s and he wanted to run. So I obliged, knowing he had the HP and TQ of an RS. This stretch of highway is as Autobahn as it gets in these parts. I thought he'd walk me for sure, I was right there with every burst of speed, but he did not, could not, or didn't like the triple digit speeds to leave me.

I came away thinking the A7plus was enough for me.

I’m in Minneapolis/ St. Paul area as well. I know the stretch you’re talking about! What’s all done to the A7?

From an engine performance standpoint: dual pulleys, APR tune Stage 2+ RS7 intake, S7 sport exhaust. That's it. And it's a complete blast!

Have not seen it necessary for cooling at this point.

Wow and you were playing with E63s’s!! That’s awesome! There’s quite a few of us C7/.5 guys in the west metro if you make it there at all!

Beautiful car and a great build, but he wasn’t full on it if you kept up. Those cars run 11.0 in the 1/4 mile and are even more brutal from a roll with twin turbos compared to a your supercharged car which falls off at the top end

You give me that same E63S and you wont be able to see the Merc sign because i'll be so far ahead....

Beautiful car, but lets manage our expectations here. Are you sure he just wasnt trying to get around you and you thought he wanted to run?

great car and I'm sure it's a blast but stock W212 E63's turn 60-130 in the mid to low 9' and W213's do it in the low 8's so I honestly don't think he was fully invested.

It's between 494 and Cedar headed south on 35E. some of the best 4 lane highway in the Cities

And my only point is if indeed he wasn't really trying (which is clear based on what we know of both car's capabilities) I'm not sure of the purpose for the comparison. I think your car looks great and am certain it's quick and a lot of fun, I have/had 3.0T powered cars and love that engine -but stock for stock or mod for mod it's just not in the same realm as a 4.0TT RS or E63S...and there's nothing wrong with that.

Driven that stretch hundreds of times, never heard anyone compare it the Autobahn! But yeah, I've had some great runs through there.

Love it! Car looks awesome, I am in the Twin Cities as well and just picked up a prestige A7. Currently only have the APR stage I tune but plan to do more in the spring. Where did you get the RS Grill? I have been looking online for a solid one and can't find one anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. I will probably run 21s, coilovers and AWE touring exhaust with resonated downpipes come spring.
