Daytona Gray Pearl - Is it boring in person?

I'm searching for an S7 and boy are the good ones hard to come by. I've found a great deal out of state, so I'm unable to see it in person before making a commitment to travel. The S7 looks a bit bland in pictures, with Daytona Gray Pearl paint, non-Black Optics, and the low-end stock rims (19" 5 spoke parallel, but not the sporty ones). Upgrading the rims & new tires would still be cheaper than buying the next best option, but the paint is there forever.

Is it possible that the pics are bad? The searches I've seen for Daytona Gray are mostly stock photos and it's hard to really form an opinion.

The car has been sitting (certified) for 2 months, so I know it's not just me that doesn't feel "it." But at 10% below market price, it's becoming impossible to pass up.

My A7 is Dakota and I think it's awesome. Looks good clean and dirty. However, a wrap will fix it if down the road you decide its not for you.

It all personal preference. If you like dark gray then it is great, one of the best paint colors around IMHO, but if you prefer something lighter like silver, or nardo, or suzuka then Daytona is not for you. If you really want it to pop then you go Sepang or Misano. :)

I think the color really improves in person, compared to photos. It's really good the closer you get to it, with great depth and complexity.

I don't think so. I had an RS4 in that colour and my first RS7 was daytona, loved it!

Daytona is a great color. It's the one I wanted, but could never find but I definitely want to get it for my next car.

Yeah, agreed. Wow! Daytona is one of the best colors! But these photos almost look greenish (hood) - no justice at all!

My RS6 back in the mid 2000's was this color and to this day it is my favorite (unless I'm feeling frisky than Nogaro).

Another big advantage of Daytona Gray is it looks great no matter what kind of light your in and looks relatively clean when dirty.

Thanks-Had to truck this from California to Florida. Hard to find one with the options & mileage I wanted.

My S6 was sitting next to an identically optioned black S6 and I’ve owned black vehicles for 20 years (the B8 S4 I traded was black).

Great color - so much so that Audi keeps putting it across various car lines. I got a Daytona Pearl A6 and a Matte Daytona RS7. Love both. Perfect shade of gray - not too dark not too light. No hints of brown like some other grays. Really pops in the sunlight!!

I love Daytona Grey Pearl. Not gonna say I am biased because whites are my first preference. So it was gonna be White/Suzuka/Daytona for me. I got Daytona and I am super happy.

That's the situation I was in after I first saw one in White - it's just so pure. But things feel through on the two white ones I was looking at, then this Daytona popped up and...Well the rest is history.

Made the deposit an hour ago, booked my flight, and will see it in person in 21 long hours. Then a nice 8 hour ride home to become acquainted with her. I think I'll call her Storm.

The craziest part is that I've only been in Audi 7 series a total of about 20 minutes. A very brief test drive in a 2013 S7 which had some mechanical issues; another short ride in a 2015 A7; and a longer test drive in a 2016 RS7 Performance (which was a thrill).

You guys have all been such a huge help with the choices I made along the way. Thank you!

IMO, it has to be a larger car for Daytona Pearl to really shine....had thought I wanted this color on my SQ5 but went with Florett since Darian just wasn’t doing it, on a small car, for me

Just wrap it any color And then ceramic coat it it’s a lot cheaper than painting

It really is such a beautiful color and has a lot of hidden depth to it the closer you get. Lots of blue metal flake which really set it off. I have a Q7 that is Daytona Gray pearl, and I love the color. The color pops when the car is clean, and seems to change from a lighter to darker color depending on the how the light hits it.
