    Aeroforce Technology Gauge with Podi...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Thanks very much to forcefedjunkie for introducing me to this gauge. I contacted HS Tuning and had it sent out to me with some custom touches. It was 229 plus 20 in custom work.

I also purchased the podi gauge pod from ecstuning.com for $40 and drilled out the back of the pod to get the aeroforce gauge to fit perfectly.

This gauge is awesome so far. Its nicer than my p3 multi gauge in the other car.

The first thing I noticed was that the gauge responds immediately when you turn the ignition on. I had been having trouble with one of my P3 gauges only responding about half of the time when you turn the key on.

This gauge has all the parameters on it you would need. I like to keep two parameters on the main screen and I have set it up so that you can toggle between four different items on each of those two parameters. I took some photographs to better explain. To summarize you can monitor everything from boost 2 air fuel ratio to fuel pressure to transmission temperature to intake temperature to ignition angle and retard and it goes on and on and on.

This gauge also allows performance parameters which I have not delved into much but I believe it would be things like 0 to 60 times and the like.

In addition to that it does graphing functions in real time and it clears codes and reads codes

the final function is that it allows you to cycle on and off the radiator fans when the ignition is not on. This will allow you to rapidly cool your intake temps while you're waiting in the staging Lane without having to turn the air conditioning or the engine on which is mandatory at many tracks.

Interesting Mike, it does all this thru only the obd2? Any pix of the rear of the pod?

Just read up on all the features of this compared to the P3 gauge. For the price, it’s unbeatable and seems like it can be installed in a few minutes. Thank you for sharing this with us all.

Looks like you can hook up 0-5v sensors to it, so can be used to display ethanol content too. Awesome.

This is nitpicking but it would look a lot better with a black background instead of blue - the screen that is.

You can flop the display negative so it's black with blue numbers

Haha. I kept thinking it looks like a fancy apexi controller.

I'm curious to see more color matched options..

Right now I'm using my phone/torque pro and I can do everything this thing can...but I really want a podi boost gauge! Waay better than p3. (to me at least)

Ive used phone apps and they are very slow with data capture like running 8 channels in vcds NOT in turbo mode. This direct wire gauge seems to be logging much faster which is important for things like timing, fuel pressure, knk where you want to getcas much data as possible

Regarding the screen color yes that is what it is. I bought the black/white model so you see the negative screen image is going to look a slight bit blue but it does not look like it looks in the photo. The photo makes it looks much more blue for some reason. In person it looks more grey. I assume thats the same for all positive colors like you can also choose blue or red.

I like the P3 gauge a lot. I've had 3 of them on different cars. The integration of the P3 blends very well into the interior of the car. I only have a couple minor critiques of it now comparing it to the aeroforce.

    1. The P3 doesnt always respond when turning the car on. I dont know why. Two of mine were 95% good at firing right up. This last one I have had is only about 50% for starting up when you start the car. So you literally have to shut down the car and start it up again to get the gauge to work.
    2. The P3 "actual boost" reading tends to be off by about 2-3psi. This is after they started reading off the supposedly correct channel of "actual boost" I'm not talking about their old sofware package where they measured only "specified boost" which was lazy and the wrong thing to do.
    3. The P3 is slightly light on channels you can measure. Its an OBD2 gauge so why limit the user to only a handful of channels?
    4. The price of the P3 is a tad high

The aeroforce, so far, solves all of those issues. It fires up instantaneously. It reads a ton of channels that are all relevant and they do seem accurate as well. The gauge also does graphing, it will record data for you, it will read and erase codes, and it will control fans and 2 analog inputs. Its price is a relative bargain IMO. That said, the downside is that you do have to work on the factory integrated look more yourself. I can see trying to vent mount it would work well. I like the PODI pod so far but yes you can tell you have an aftermarket gauge on your dash.

I believe it should be $269. Its 249 plus 10 for the silver bezel and 10 for "custom work" Then its $40 for the PODI gauge pod.

The p3 multi gauge is 389 without a vent. Its 579 with a vent. Plus you need to add 25 for track pack chip to monitor iat.

I was digging through the Arduino thread it and it looks like you could build one to connect to an flex fuel sensor. It would then send the signal to this gauge so you could display ethanol content as well.

I have not seen one of those steering wheel pods in person but from your eyes view what does it look like, are any of the gauges covered? Also how is the gauge at night, does it dim automatically?

Could you describe the custom work that you had done? I'm think this is what I might put on my wish list for Christmas.

I believe i paid 10 bucks for the silver bezel which really compliments the other gauges and 10 for the "insignia" which the company would prefer not to advertise due to any possible copyright issues.

Btw the gauge really doesn't look as blue as the photos...

Hey there I am interested in getting one of these. What has been your overall experience? Do you still have it? Any issues?

Hey man, any pointers on installing the podi for the gauge? I am having a hard time and don’t want to ruin the gauge or the mount.

I can’t get it to snap into place. Don’t want to force it.

Does yours look like this? Thanks

I am a moron. I was trying to attach the podi without first removing the plastic piece from the steering column!

Do you have to do any additional wiring for the fan control? I think that alone is worth the purchase.
