Considering going from Air Suspension to Static

After about 6 months of riding on air, im not really happy with the ride quality. When hitting bumps or rolling bumps on the freeway, it can be very jarring. I've tried all kinds of settings, damping, strut heights, different PSI settings and I just can't get it to ride the way I'd like.

I'm hoping to find some locals that are willing to give me a ride in their suspension setups to compare. Does anyone around the Bay Area have coil overs or springs and willing to take me for a quick ride?

Also if you have Air suspension, id be curious to get a ride a well to compare, maybe its just me?

So I'm considering the same, but the way my driveway is (and other driveways, parking lot entrances etc) prevents me from going back to low static without sacrificing my front and rear end to severe scraping.

The issue I have is the ride is very bouncy, more so when I have the ride at a higher height and the damping settings on the softer side. What happens is if I hit a dip, my shocks are too soft and the car ends up landing on the bags causing a severe bounce (very jarring). I tried lowering the ride a little more and stiffening my damping settings which has definitely helped, but the issue is still there. Bags are great for potholes, severe angles, raising the car for lifts etc, but they handle dips terribly. Try lowering the PSI and increasing the stiffness for daily driving. Your ride may be a bit stiffer, but it would be less bouncy. If you switch to coils, the ride is better but again you sacrifice versatility.

Thanks for confirming shonseb, there are days where I feel like im the only one because I rarely hear of others complaining about this. I'll try stiff and low psi and see how that feels. the problem with the rear is that the low PSI is very low. I used to run spacers but with low setting I can't. Im considering going to stock avant setup on my all road, I've see other with this and the setup looks nice.

No you're not alone. Sometimes I hate the ride, but thats usually after riding in the wife's brand new Q7, so I have to remind myself of that. She HATES riding/driving my car. I've def had worse static setups, so I guess its all relative. My allroad is my dd as well, and my daughter is always telling me "daddy lets go up, now go down!" (Air up, air out). So at least she likes it!

Thanks Makisupa, glad to hear I'm not alone. I guess my biggest fear is going static and having similar or worse ride comfort. I was something stiffer than stock but still comfortable. I'm hoping someone local has Bilstein coil overs and willing to take me out for a ride.
