Are you rust proofing?

I'm very tempted to oil spray my b8.5. I've been browsing Kijiji looking at b6 and b7 Audi's as winter vehicles and they all pretty much have rust.

I get Audi has their galvanized steel and all that but you just have to look at 8-10 year old models to see that is not a cure all for rust.

So who here has done some sort of spray? Did you take it in to Krown or diy?

I never bothered , I have had 4 Audis and they were all pretty much Ok considering they are 12 -14 years old when they start showing and I don't much care by that point.

My 2000 A6 was the worst and Audi replaced a door skin and fender under warranty
my 2006 A4b7 is starting to get very small rust spots but at this point who cares really . it has 300K on it and it is currently a race to see if the body or engine will kill the car first .. I think the engine will win by far.

I've used a product called Corrosion Free on my B8. Main thing for me is that I can't stand the dripping especially on a white car, so I opted for Corrosion Free over Krown or Rust Check. If I recall correctly, the Canadian National Defence department did a study on various sprays and their research shows Corrosion Free to be one of the better products.

This is what I use, get a few bottles from Canadian Tire and do the painted steel parts underneath the car and other undercarriage bits.. works great. I do the cars when I do the winter wheel swap.

Cool thanks. Will this stuff spray into crevices like door bottoms and fenders?

I see some of the undercarriage rusting on my 10 B8 I all so see the fenders starting to bubble

any recommendations in Scarborough... Im thinking Krown

Get it repaired first and then rust proof
