    ST Coilovers a Huge Disappointment.

Though I bought my setup from ECStuning because they were highly recommended I must say the ST coilover setup for my 2013 A4 has been a huge expensive let down. I understand that my Koni coilover system on my previous 2001 B5 A4 was a grade above in the first place, but this system is crap. with less than 5,000 miles on my setup I have a completely failed RF strut along with readjustments and noise. Things happen and I do live in Michigan but they want me to remove my strut ship it to them and wait for them to rebuild it. or buy a new one....

I am going to buy a new one alright a whole setup from someone else.

I dont think I really need coilovers so I am looking for feedback on the Eibach pro-cup kit:
    https://www.ecstuning.com/b-koni-par.../11451004~kon/

or the Pro Plus kit and use my stock struts and shocks (50,000 miles on them)
    https://eibach.com/us/c-56-car-truck-suv.html

Does anyone have experience with either setup and any feedback?

Im already burned on the first setup I dont want to repeat it.

This is just my opinion but Koni Sports did not hold up well on my 08 Passat that had them paired with Eibach springs (VW DG Sport Spring), both fronts needed rebuilding after 3 years because they were leaking and even though Koni covered under Warranty you had to purchase replacement first. I'm in Rochester, NY so our roads are similar or slightly better than Howell, MI.

Did you have Sport Suspension before you went to coilovers ?

If not your stock shocks may not hold up with a lowering spring like the Eibach Pro-Kit springs, but you may be fine ?

Uh oh. I purchased an ST set during their "spring fling" whatever sale for my 2013 A4 this Spring and I stared at them all summer and didn't install them.
I little scared to DIY it, but i've tackled brakes, rotors, suspension \trans mounts (to firm up), RS4 grill, open air filter (you get my drift) on the A4 and struts on another car.
Have all the tools including the spring compressor, air guns, pinch bolt tool and even an a-arm spline fork separator.
Haven't heard much negativity on em from here or really anywhere. Most I've read as they were a good set and seems to be a hair better than stock with lowering abilities.
Would they have been okay if the RF didn't blow out?

coil installs are a PITA on our cars.
i think its worth paying someone to do it professionally so you can have someone to complain to when something goes wrong.

i was gonna DIY, scared to but when someone priced me 380 for the labor, i jumped on that asap.
most shops will charge at least 950 just for labor.

I had eibach springs on stock shocks for about 80k miles. Worked and felt great! I then had st coiloverd for about 110k miles (which rode amazing) before they went out and i switched to airride.

1.5 hours per corner is the book time. Multiply by hourly rate.

An experience mechanic can do it in an hour, but will still charge you 1.5 :)

If you do it yourself, don't forget to clock, time or index your bushings

My car is a premium plus so i just had regular suspension. the rear suspension has been noisy since install, I had them readjusted after the suspension settled and the rear creaks have never gone away. fronts were fine until the last 500 miles the wheel has progressively started to shake a lot. I thought it was a bent rim or a weight fell off but i had the tires rotated and road forced and that wheel was the best one. i have a video of the strut holding no tension.

What's so bad about install? Genuinely curious as I'm considering coils.

just the overall difficulty of it.
its doable dont get me wrong but very time consuming with just basic tools.
plus im sure even if you think you have all the tools, youre still gonna have to do a store run for more tools.

could be a metal to metal contact.
have you looked into the spring pads or bushings?

My kw v3’s were only $385 for install. A win for me as the shop obviously underquoted themselves for a 6 hour job they thought would take 3.
Coilovers on our platform are by no means a 1-2-3 job. And you WILL be making a tool run. Guaranteed

After 24k miles, two slightly leaking dampers and a loose clunking noise from the front left, I'm in the process of having my Stassis Ohlins reinstalled by a shop right now. Major pain in the ass. I'm grateful Feal Suspension was able to crank the damper rebuild around in a half a day but now the shop is saying Feal crossed sides when they reassembled the front springs (shop had everything marked off my previous settings). Car's been at the shop since Tuesday. They claim they are experts and they are even having problems getting them just right. I know there are some haters out there but have enjoyed the Stassis Ohlins coilovers. Maintenance is killer though. $250 per corner just for the rebuild and don't forget if you are doing it right, you'll want to align and corner balance as well. I'f I was buying a new set up, personally I'd skip the KWs and STs and go with Bilstein PSS's. Lower Springs and the oem sport shocks suck because you have to be able to pair them just right or they will get really bouncy really fast. Ask me how I know.
