V8 Engine swap

Hey, I know it's a bit of an odd question but I figured this is the best place to ask. Is it possible to swap a V8 FSI engine from an 2007 Audi A8 into a B8 gen Audi A4? I know that some Audi V8s could be swapped into the B6 and B7 Audi A4s relatively easily. I'm asking as it would be nice to have a 6 speed manual Audi, as none of the A8s are manual.

Well that gives me some hope. The biggest hurdle I can see is getting the ecu to work correctly with the engine, and secondly mounting the engine.

After doing some research it looks like I would possibly be able to use the ECU out of an B8 S5, as they are equipped with a 4.2L V8 FSI (same as the engine I have out of the A8) and manual 6 speed transmissions. Or would I run into issue connecting the ECU to an A4s gauge cluster?

He has the engine and trans in. Just needs some coding on the ECU, so I'd like to think it was possible. Though he didn't take his V8 from a B7.+

Thanks, his thread helps alot. Im pretty sure the V8 I have is the same as the one from the s5. Atleast mount wise. Its reasuring that the subframe will work without modifications. Hopefully whatever fixes his Ecu issue works for me as well.
