    Exhaust suggestions!

Hey everyone! Just purchased my first Audi which is a 2015 Audi A3 2.0T. I'm looking to get a cat-back exhaust system installed on it but I'm not too sure which one I want so I'd like some suggestions/advice. I'm looking for a very aggressive and deep exhaust note. The two I was looking at were the Milltek or the Borla cat-back exhausts.

Let me know what you think! Thanks!

I just recently got the same vehicle. Looking at the Milltek, Dinan, or AWE myself.

I have the milltek dont do it. It’s an old man exhaust. I have a decat 3.5” downpipe no resonators and the milltek suitcase still makes it quiet. I’ve welded up exhausts from straight pipes before so I can “fix” it. But unless you’ve got that skill set I would advise against. My car sounds a little more exotic than everyone else’s but I’ve spent too much time under my car to get there. Go with the awe track set up. Best loud exhaust out if the box

Would the S3 AWE Track Exhaust fit the A3? Plan on getting a new diffuser for quad tips anyways.

Yes, diffuser is the only part that is different. Tips slip on so you could run duals from magnaflow for around $50 in the meantime too

Def would recommend AWE systems for the A3/S3. Make really nice quality systems

This would be the A3 Quattro setup

My only issue is the touring exhaust sounds very quiet imo. I'm looking for an aggressive and mean note and not a ricer note. I can't seem to find the perfect one yet!

A downpipe is really going to change things and what I personally would recommend really. Does not have to be the AWE downpipe as I know thats more $

I ran the CTS Turbo catted downpipe for the AWD A3/S3 on my 2015 S3 a while back. Loved the sound. I paired it with the Remus catback though to mix things up. If I had to do it again I honestly would just start with a downpipe and see what you think from there. As this way you get the power out of the mod. But that is assuming you will tune it at some point at it will throw a CEL from the downpipe

I agree a little with Modded Euro’s or just go full Turbo-back so you know what sound you’re getting with downpipe and catback togther.

I have my Dinan Exhaust sitting in my garage Like-New with flat-black tips. I LOVED the sound when paired with the stock Downpipe. However, when I installed the Catless CTS 3.5” DP, it sounded like a raspy Civic exhaust and way too loud over 2500 rpms. I was forced back to the stock catback and now there is almost no noticable change in sound from stock.

The A3 and S3 stock catbacks are very different sounding when paired to the CTS DP. If you are looking for a good sound with the stock downpipe the Dinan is amazing and I’ll sell you mine cheap :)

Having to do it all over again which I am...I’ll just go full turbo-back. Likely Unitronic, resonated.

That first one with the APR DP and Dinan Catback sounds terrible. Super raspy as you're driving by. This is exactly why I had to remove my Dinan. It's pairing is terrible to any DP. Just the cat back alone sounds amazing, just like mine did before I upgraded Downpipes.

APR only makes a GTI\R\S3 exhaust. Nothing for the A3 Quattro (yet)

You could do the S3 exhaust on an A3 Quattro and upgrade the valance, but IMO that's a lot of money should you decide on a full turbo-back with new rear S-Line Bumper\Valence.

Yea it was definitely raspy but nothing too bad imo was reallly only bad when you were off throttle at near redline other than that it was ok

It’s worse with my CTS 3.5” catless. At least your APR is catted. I do like the APR S3 exhaust note-I may go that route, but that’s a lot of dough.

Yea but I think with like 99% of exhaust systems paired with any aftermarket DP will rasp I mean at the end of the day we have 4 cylinders. If it's a thing that you dont necessarily want then there's always resonators that can be welded in to tone down the exhaust. For myself being young I like the fast and loud stuff but I understand that even some young guns like me dont want loud. I think if you got 2 of the magnaflow bottle style resonators the sound will be a bit more bearable and less raspy. I know a guy that has an s3 with a downpipe and full exhaust that put a resonator because he thought it was too loud and raspy. To each their own. No one is right or wrong, it's all in our own personal tastes.
