2013 Q7 Towing Capabilities

I have a 2013 Q7 Sline prestige with Factory towing added i am trying to gather information before my pending move from San Diego to the east coast i wasnt to fond of shipping my A4 on a car carrier the last time i moved so im trying to figure out it i could tow my B8 A4 with the Q7 on a Uhaul auto carrier? i have tried searching and havent come up with much in regards to towing other cars but i did find info on towing campers and boats.

I've towed my R8 with a U-Haul trailer several times. It's a '17 and lighter than the gen.1's, so you shouldn't have any trouble at all.

According to my 2014 brochure, a standard Q7 has a max tow capacity of 5,500 lbs with a 550 lb tongue weight.

With the factory tow package it has a factory tow bar and increased cooling capabilities upping the limits to 6,600 lbs and 660 lbs.

The brochure doesn’t list higher weight limits, but if you have an air suspension it includes some neat features too like self-leveling of the tongue after loading. You have to enable tow mode in the MMI car settings.

Thanks for the reply and the info. I don’t have the air suspension so i miss out on some of the cool features I am the second owner but I do know the trailer hitch is oem Installed is there a way to verify if I have the increased cooling etc? I don’t have the tow mode on the mmi. Anything I could visually check on the car?

Sorry for double post I just re read I have factory tow bar installed so I should have the increased capability. Well looks like I will plan to tow my A4 with the family out to the east coast thanks for the help

Do not fret!
I towed a 7x14 from San Clemente to NC, overloaded trailer by 3000 lbs. (10,000) and the vehicle by 3500.
I crossed the scales just before pulling into my new home, as I could not consciously tow that knowing ahead of time.
Now, I do have air suspension, thank God, Gas motor and a lot of Angels watching over me! No problems moving it even through the mountains, plenty of power! Super impressed me.
But towing your car on a Uhaul should be a breeze without air!
