Just installed took 15 min and works with Injen aftermarket intake. Surprisingly the car turns better and feels a little more tight buying The tunnel brace as well.IMG_2155.jpgIMG_2165.JPGIMG_2167.JPG

    Looks Great!

Will it be possible to replace the plastic trim around the strut towers?

Did you have to cut the trim at all? I can't even get a finger under the trim where I put the red arrow.

Sorry, for some reason I thought the shock towers were covered. They are just way more obvious on a red car!

Literally came here to endorse this! I came from an FRS to the S3 and I absolutely agree that this has been an awesome add-on to the car. Steering has improved in everyway, the feeling into a corner has improved for me dramatically! Considering how cheap these things are selling I would highly recommend trying one of these!!!!

Cool! Will the stock s3 engine cover fit with the brace installed?

    Ive read mixed reviews....

Some say snake oil as their is plenty of metal between the shock towers...

Others swear it transforms the car.

Probably need to drive one before and after install.

What two small pieces are you referring to? Also, do you have any website info for brace?

Unlike most cars, the false firewall joins the towers and although the factory sporty models further support with a flat bar mounted behind that firewall (did on the A4 anyway) its not a huge difference but could help a little. If you took two identical cars and did a blind test, I'd bet $1,000 you couldn't tell the difference beyond chance for any reasonable sample size. Looking at the angle of the bar mounts what little flex there is will easily flex the mount point of that. When I have added bars, I weld in the mounts and have a straight a load path as physically possible. That said, if the placebo effect of it makes it feel better for you, then its worth it as confidence behind the wheel matters a lot. For me, it adds weight for dubious benefit. I'd just do the flat bar on the back side of the false firewall like factory, but car doesn't need any more weight, especially on the nose.

Bimmerworld did a test on two of their E46 race cars and found that, on a car with thousands of race miles and super sticky rubber, there was .001 mm of movement in the shock towers during a race. I would suggest that the chassis on a late model A3/S3 is inherently more stiff than a 15 year old racecar. Therefore, a bar like this is close more about show than go.

I am last person to say don't buy something, so buy it if you want it but just don't expect any sort of noticeable difference in the car at all.

I would have 100% agreed with you guys prior to this bar, even when I bought it I was thinking this is pointless but with amount of flex in the S3 I was willing to try it with such a cheap mod. My 2 previous cars I put the bar and and literally felt no difference and thought "well that was a waste of money"

Im not on here trying to sell the bar bit if you have an S3/A3, as I said before it cost me 200 CND, pretty cheap mod and it made a noticeable enough of a difference that I came to post here. Its not mind blowing by any means but I will stand by that this is not placebo, it really has pleasantly made the car better and those that get one I would guarantee that you will notice a pleasant difference. I am in Canada, (Calgary AB) so if anyone has an S3 and near me I would be more than happy to let you try for yourself.

Honestly the intent of the post was to come share with fellow S3 owners cause most of the other parts for this car start at 300-400 Plus and gets up there.

    Cheers
