I know this has been covered relentlessly and the general consensus is go with OEM for ride and longevity but I don't have $400 and the last bag I bought was $225 and it's lasted almost 4 years.

Last I heard Arnott was not making great stuff and again, I don't have $300 for an Arnott bag.

    Has anyone used these before?

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Front-Air-S...hauVQL&vxp=mtr

this is a generic China bag that multiple people sell on the internet but I'm curious if anyone has actually tried them?

Note: a few sites state that you need a new air fitting because the stock one won't fit the hole. There are other companies that sell the fitting with the bag.......

    Thanks, but never will.

As problematic as this system can be, I love it, and need it, living in Canada.

I haven’t used those, but I replaced one front with this one and it’s going strong for a year plus so far.

I put the Chinese bags in temporarily on mine. The fronts aren't bad. The rears are garage that by design are next to impossible to seal and prevent leaks.

I am not sure it is what you are looking for, but I have a new in box pair of Arnott A-2239 front bags for sale. These are the older Gen2 front bags circa 2014. I bought an unused full kit (all four bags and the pump) from a local who had ordered them new. I had already done my fronts at that point though.

I am looking for $400, shipped.

I am running these westar bags in the front. Great pricing and really nice quality. I had a picture of these, next to OEM and arnott bags, if I can find it I will update this post. These are really nice! Great for aobut 5K miles for me and about 10 months.

fantastic. This is exactly what I wanted to hear.

I think at this point we are pretty much stuck with what we get and we have to deal with swapping them out yearly if you get a bad bag, but decent build quality is always preferred!

    Post up that pic!

Their rears look to mimic stock, not the aluminum ones from china, which is good. Need to find a price on those could be worth testing.

Here is the rear I found when looking. https://www.autozone.com/suspension-...3_638701_17004

If I needed rear I was leaning toward arnott for those as they are $155 at Rockauto.

It looks like the spring is so short compared to stock, but I guess Arnott's are the same too.

All three of them are at different "Levels" The westar is completely "Compressed" (Level 1) , arnott close to compressed (Level 2), the factory is up a bit (maybe level 3?) if I recall so the photo is a bit misleading in that way.

155 for the rear arnott is pretty good, maybe I"ll try the one side just to see if I can bring myself to order one. Much better than the westar prices for what I need out of them right now.

the chinese ones don't lock down to the shock like stock and didn't come with new orings so they constantly leak (and I Can't find someone with the right size orings). The other issue is the top cap/seal doesn't have a place to seat the oring.. its just on the threads so every time you tighten or loosen the top cap it destroys the oring, I think I fixed that by just filling it with rtv (should be fun to take apart.). I just wanted to experiment with the "stock" stuff before I switch to the airlift bags/shocks so I didn't want to waste money but right now with how much it leaks I just hate driving the car so the arnotts might be good temp solution.

Are you talking about the Westar bags I asked about?

When you say the Chinese ones don't lock to the shock, do you mean they don't just pull down and snap into place? How does it work then? It's more work to find the O-ring, but wouldn't a thicker O-Ring not seal the gap?

The westar ones look like stock clones or gen 1 arnott clones, should work fine.. possibly made by the same people making the arnott ones just relabeled now for westar, who knows.

The generic chinese ones are like the fronts where the air pressure just holds the lower bag in place over the oring, vs the stock where it actually turns/tightens down on the shock to hold in place. It probably does work (since the front works) but mine leak badly. I can't seem to find a pic of them online I"ll take a shot of my spare one tomorrow.

As for the orings it is a super tight fit and since you can't prelocate the spring body part on the shock trying to use a thicker oring just results in it binding up and never seating right. I tried the ones they sent.. wrong.. some I ordered that were thicker.. wrong and just back to my stock ones which leak. Right rear sags in less than 24hours and the left rear will be down in 1-2 days. They were like 120 shipped for 2 though so figured I Would give them a try... nope.

    amazon springs experience (2003 w 175k miles)

I have amd would use im the future the amazon / ebay chinese front springs. Mine lasted 2 years / 10k miles. Or maybe the shop didn't swap both sides when I bought the car.

Replacing the front springs is fast and easy.

For rears i bought meissler springs and shocks. They make batches and are often back ordered.

    http://www.air-suspension-shop.com/Audi-A6-C5-4B-allroad-air-spring-damper-air-suspension-rear-pairwise-4Z7616051A-4Z7616052A-4Z7513031A-4Z7513032A

I have these in a box in the garage as I try to decide if I want to do the rears myself or hire a shop to do it.

I personally only trust springs that mount to oem style rear shocks.

Has anyone done Meissler on all 4 corners, including shocks? Their prices are decent but I thought I remember reading a so-so review a while back.......

I looked into these guys before but didn't pull the trigger because of uncertainty.

Knowing that I will eventually redo the entire suspension, I'm leaning towards Arnott shocks and done other bag, or, Meissler all around

I'll let everyone know once I pull the trigger; I've got the shocks / springs in my garage and am putting together the rest of the kit -- my car's got one good bushing left... (surprisingly the ball joints are all 100% intact as far as I can tell)

@cdu, replacing the rear springs/shocks is easy enough, understanding you'll need an alignment once done. Place car into jack mode before beginning, use VCDS to reinflate system before putting car back on the ground (I tend to lower my lift until the tires just touch the ground)
    1) remove wheels (17mm)
    2) remove lower rock guards (10mm)
    3) remove ABS sensor from wheel bearing housing (5mm allen)
    4) loosen lower control arm inner nuts (18mm)
    5) free airline from shock and contol arm clips then remove airline fitting from spring (10mm)
    6) remove lower level sensor bracket from control arm (10mm)
    7) remove upper shock/spring bolts to body (13mm)
    8) loosen lower shock bolt (16mm?)
    9) mark then remove the lower control arm outer/eccentric alignment bolts (18mm?)
    10) remove lower shock bolt
    11) at this point you can rotate the lower control down, and remove shock spring assembly (lift up, bring lower mount up and out of the control arm, then forward and down to clear the upper mount through the upper control arm)

    disassemble/service/reassemble shocks/springs and reinstall

As for the various oring sizes, I've been compiling that information and confirming it where I can.

82*3 is way too large for the rear lower shock to air spring oring on these.

It's something like a 54.3*4 or something like that ( don't use that it's not right).
