Going to purchase my downpipe here in a few days and just looking to see whether individuals prefer/like CTS or USP catted DPs. From what I have gathered it seems across the variety of brands it does not matter too much.

Performance probably doesn't matter. But if you want truly drone-free, I would look at Integrated Engineering also. Theirs is made of thicker tubing/casting, which eliminates all drone normally caused by most downpipes.

I'm not a fan of DP's with the cat in the stock position but that design looks very nice and the price is very competitive. Didn't see any mention of whether it will throw a CEL.

If you have emissions requirements then get one that is CEL free. I’ve got the awe catted one and it’s been great and problem free.

No emissions standards for me but I plan on going Stage 2 on the same day I install the DP as well. Will give a look at the IE DP. Thanks for the help all.

Not trying to be a jerk, but do you offer a no CEL guarantee like AWE and Neuspeed?

Only true way to avoid a cel is to tune the car which is probably what you plan to do if you buy an aftermarket downpipe

This is false. AWE and Neuspeed guarantee no CEL.

I run a JB4 and would prefer not to set it to recognize any CELs.

Yeah, our stage 2 tune is coded so that the o2 sensor doesn't throw a code. Almost every car out there with a stock tune will throw a code if there's an aftermarket downpipe on there. The o2 sensors on VAG cars are very sensitive in this regard, hence why tuners like us recommend a stage 2 tune with a downpipe.

AWE does what Milltek does....uses the German HJS cat.

Which is twice the size of the US cats...and why its twice the price!.

I ran the milltek/HJS on my B6....the cat only lasted about 2 years before it threw a CEL.

AWE offers a 1 year on the cat!

To hide the HFC's...tuners came out with the 02 sensor file. Which stops the rear 02 sensor from throwing a CEL.

IMO, get any DP you like....and the stage 2 file to take care of the CEL.

$6 anti-fouler from AutoZone on my I.E. pipe fixed my CEL on a stock tune. No way would I spend almost double for a no CEL guarantee (that's just me though).

Wtf...I was always under the assumption that a stage 2 ECU tune would eliminate the CEL no matter which downpipe you have. That's how it was on all of my previous cars at least.

And holy shit, that is loud with just the stock res delete and catted downpipe!

Yes - a stage 2 tune can eliminate the CEL - but it will show as 'Not Ready' on the O2 check when doing an OBD2 inspection. If your state doesn't have that, no problem. But if it does, you need to at least be able to get the CEL to stay off long enough on the stock tune to pass readiness.

And it only sounds loud on cold start. Driving around after warm up is not much louder than stock.

Where are your tunes for the MQB platform and do you offer tunes for 2018 S3's? I cannot find them on your site.

Well, that's what it takes for emissions performance without resorting to software trickery. Irony, the very thing that makes it good for quick cat "light off" makes it too hot once fully warmed, hence more power to move it away from the head, and run higher idle to start to get it to light off faster.... I have the APR one and like it fine.

We're a few weeks out from releasing the tune actually! And it'll be worth the wait :)
